I used this reel rod combo twice so far for some panfish action. Not impressed much to be honest...The rod is ultra lightweight. Adding a micro jig adds a constant slight bend to the tip of the rod. There is no reel attachement on the rod, yet it comes with bands for attachment. The tip of the rod is not round, it has a flattened chape. Its a bit hard to read if you have a bite or not, the noddle design doesn't give a shock in your hand when bitting.The reel is disappointing.... I spooled it with 4lbs ice magic mono line. Any temperature under -1c and you will spend most of your time adjusting the line by hand when dropping in the water. It doesn't always drop the lure easily, even at the most sensible adjustment.... you need to give it a small push with your hand to start it up. The drop button is well positioned, but is not 100% accurate. Most importantly, it does not have any drag system with clicking sound, which is a huge deal for me. I love the dragging sound, its addicting and gives you a good indication of the size of the fish. This reel, and I believe most inline reel, do not have any drag clicking sound. When I caught a large bass I actually thought I had a small bluegill on until I saw it at the hole. With a drag clicking I could have noticed from the beginning. The reel knob also makes squeaking sounds. Meh.

The rod itself had a single loop (that the line goes through) that was off center compared to the other three. Also, the reel worked for about half a day before it broke. Something inside it stopped working or broke and the spool lock no longer worked and it wouldn’t stop the line from spinning out of the reel. Cheap plastic made in China.

Best panfish rod I’ve ever used! Only cons would maybe be the tip isn’t as visible at night as say the neon chartreuse colored ones. Also the drag on the Black Betty reel doesn’t have that classic clicking sound I like.

The eyes on this rod are way off not even close to lined up horrible quality to send out.its my first 13 fishing rod and will be my last if this is the quality for 200$
