The "2 Pack 1/4 Inch 304 Stainless Steel Ball Valve Male to Female NPT..... WOG1000" met my highest expectations! Although not likely needing repair in my lifetime, they are repairable where the ball, stem, and levers can be replaced. These ball valves are of excellent quality and perform as expected, whereas, other Chinese brands that were purchased from Amazon earlier leaked due to their short thread lengths bottoming-out and not sealing, even with Teflon tape sealer, they were returned for refund, after which, the WOG1000 were purchased. If considering other brands, look closely at the thread lengths, where "1/4 inch NPT threads" should be at least 1/2 inch in length to meet the American National Pipe Thread taper standards, if shorter, they will likely leak. Lastly, if you are in a hurry, note that these valves took over 6 weeks to deliver to New York. Mark V.

I was disappointed in this ball valve due to the lack of quality control and ended up returning it, as it proved unsuitable for my use.I had planned on using this in combination with high-heat CPVC fittings (to avoid galvanic corrosion) in a hot water recirculation loop as a drain/flush valve. Unfortunately, the treads were so poorly machined that they would damage the CPVC fittings, even if wrapped with several layers of Teflon tape.In addition, the ball was not centered in the seat, which is unacceptable in a “full port” ball valve. Perhaps this was a one-off, however, the fact it made it through quality control does not instill confidence.

When I first got this I tried to turn it to the off position. Didn't budge. The threads even cut into my palm. I received a suggestion that ball valves were hard to turn. So I put a steel chisel into a vice and used it as the brace and then put a 2 foot pipe (1 inch black gas pipe) on the handle and it turned. I have used both metal and plastic ball valves and none were this hard to turn. Now I can turn without the pipe. Will install and see how it goes.
