Simple enough to assemble and filters out a ton of water for the price. Improved the taste of my water by a long shot and didn't need a lot of time running water to prime it for use. Just remember, it only filters out the cold water.. that is the line it's hooked into. Only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the bracket that came with it. Wish it was a little sturdier. Though it really isn't going to stop me from ordering it again.

I've been using this filter for about 3 years now. Love the quality and taste of the water that comes out of my sink tap, and love the price point for the filter. The first instillation was super easy and this is coming from a girly who doesn't work in plumbing. One downside is that Aquacrest does not sell this model filter (AQ-5KDC) outside of this kit, even on their main website. Meaning, every time I've had to replace the filter, I've had to buy the kit with the instillation parts I don't have need for. Wasteful. Although they have other filters that fit the system (the AQF-FF35C5J) the gallon per minute difference is huge. With this filter in the "AQ" kit having 1.5 gpm and the "AQF" being at 0.5 gpm.The low price point helps with the fact that I need to keep buying the kit over a singular replacement filter, but truly this would be 5 stars if I could just buy the filter alone.

Pas très compliqué à installer, mais je n’ai pas eu le temps de l’essayer, c’est pour la roulotte

Installed immediately after receiving. Very easy to install if your connections were in good condition, otherwise you may need to replace old tubing and valves. Water came out black for about 30sec, but never had the cloudy water problem, and was crystal clear after the test run. Should probably opt for a 3 stage filter system if that happens to you. Flow is noticeably reduced, but not a problem in bathroom faucets. Would be annoying to fill a pot in a kitchen faucet, but the water would be cleaner. The flow rate is 1.5gpm which is kind of slow compared to faucets that flow at 1.8-2.2gpm. Should probably get a higher flow one like a 3M AP200 if you want faster flow at 1.75gpm, but at 3x the price.Currently live in NorCal (SF Bay Area) which normally already has very high quality water without using filters, but the water is slightly hard with minerals forming after about 3 months on a water boiler. However EBMUD at one time did switch over to some strange reservoir water or just dumped a load of chlorine in the water and I'm not willing to take that surprise chlorine hit again, which is one of the reasons in buying this filter. However in SoCal (lived in OC for 5 yrs) where the water source is the Colorado River which has traveled hundreds of miles before reaching the house, the water is much more nastier and this filter should prove far more useful there as well as any other location with the water source from a lake or river than sourcing directly from mountain springs and snow melt runoff.

Easy to install. Great flow rate and capacity. Filtered water has a slight chlorine like odour. A replacement filter does not seem to be available so I have had to re-purchase the kit.

Installed this today for our kitchen cold water. Drinking cooking. Coffee should taste great!! Super easy to install, quality hardware as advertised. After flushing for just a few minutes our water looked less cloudy and tasted less like chlorine. The description says 5 cents per day... closer to 15 but still cheaper than bottled water & so convenient.

Easy to install, fits perfectly under the sink’s narrow space. Water flow remains strong, and taste of water improves significantly.

what sold me on this filter is the math. 5000 gallons and 25$. i use the hot water mostly in the kitchen sink which is a separate source, so i knew that wouldn’t be using the filter. i calculated max a few gallons a day for drinking and washing fruit/veg, that’s all i use the cold water for on that tap, but it would take 13gallons a day to hit 5000 in a year, so even if my math is way off that’s plenty of room for error, and this 25$ for a year (or many years bc i won’t use it much) is WAY more cheap than anything out there. and you know the filter is done when the flow goes bad (finally dug up that answer). i saw another under sink for 50$ & 8000gal and the ones in the pitchers barely last long and we more expensive and take up excess space. this one hides away under the sink. another win. and look, even if you don’t care about tap water quality it’s better to be safe than sorry for just 25$ every few years, dead cheap. now install. well hindsight it is an easy install, just twisting some valves on/off/into existing piping to accommodate the filter. actually i was missing a tube that was later found, wow that makes a huge difference, obviously. it does come with two tubes and the needle quick connect male is inserted into the filter via a push compression valve, which is quite difficult to undo unless you know to hold the sleeve (the female white plastic hole on both ends of the filter that the silver male connector tube/needle goes into) down (towards the filter, don’t let white sleeve rise) then the male needle slides out of the filter. this is what you’ll need to do when you replace the filter. it says in directions to press ‘together’ the sleeve with thumb and index finger, but it should say hold it down, since that’s what keeps it lose enough to expel the male needle. once i found my missing tube i haphazardly inserted the needles into the filter only to realize i put them in the wrong ends. One needle was easy to pull out but the other one wasn’t, so i ended up using pliers to hold the sleeve down and it still took lots of force but finally got the needle back out. i feared i damaged the sleeve but luckily once i turned on the water no issues. i let it run a while to clear the initial sediment (looks cloudy for a while) then after 5 or so minutes the water was clear and for sure tastier and more odorless than unfiltered tap. extremely satisfied and disappointed i didn’t do this forever ago, who knows what i’ve been drinking. although i was using a fridge filter but the water function just broke so once i went back to unfiltered tap i realized how nasty it was and knew i had to find the best solution for taste and health sake. cheers guys!
