The batteries do not last one year. I have hadvthem for less than a month and they have faded to about 50% light strength.

I used this in a closet to replace a unit that was too sensitive. It would go on when you were 20 feet away with the door closed. These are perfect. I used 2 in each closet because 1 didn’t cover well enough.

I purchased these for a stairwell divided by a landing and placed on opposite sides of every other stair, and they’re awesome, exactly what we need to avoid using the light switch at night. Three settings, amazing lumens and worth every penny. Super easy to install. They do take 3 AA batteries each so I also bought rechargeable ones to avoid spending over and over on batteries, hoping they last as it does take awhile before the lights are useable if you’re waiting to charge batteries.

Over the years, I have tried an array of small, portable, battery-powered or USB-charged lights (some with motion sensors and others having to be manually operated). Purchased these puck-shaped lights 2.5 months ago and, so far, they have proven to be the best that I've ever used.Really appreciate the different modes, including the stay-on capability, along with the dimming feature (which, on lowest setting, helps to extend battery life). I also like that there are variable options of positioning and installation (EG. via its wall hook loop, back plate screw holes, peel & stick magnetic disc, or via a magnetic metal interface such as a washing machine or exposed metal ducts). Great for closets, stairwells or other areas inside the home where there are no electrical outlets to plug-in a small motion-activated light. I have one just laying flat behind a vase on the hall table in my dark entryway -- It's positioned in such a way that the light only turns on when I enter/exit the front door -- No more fumbling in the dark and tripping over the cat while looking for the light switch.All-in-all, these battery-powered puck lights are well made, thoughtfully designed, are as described by the seller, and have exceeded my expectations thus far. They have saved me the expense and trouble of having electrical work done. The white 6-pack, priced at approximately $36 Canadian + tax at the time of purchase, presents a good value. Wish they came in other colours. When buying, remember that batteries are not included. Highly recommend!

Like I said they are handy because the good thing it has different modes. Constant on, day mode, night mode. It comes with a magnetic mount stick-on base or you can screw mount it for more permanent placement. However, the magnetic mount makes this easy to install and works fantastic as a portable light source anytime, especially in an evacuation/emergency situation. It is supper bright and takes three AA's. I stuck this everywhere near my doors so that when I entered a room for a brief moment I don't have to turn on and off the room lights and for emergencies. I also, place this in other useful locations like next to my bed and the toilet and sinks. I don't need to use electricity if I'm doing something quick but if I do need more time I just switch it to full on or use the room lights obviously. But I can just grab it off the wall and stick it anywhere else that has iron or steel. I even put these in my chicken's coop. So much better now in the early mornings when I have to feed them before work. Anyway its a good product. The downside is it will start to dim fast with constant use, but it will fade not just cut out on you, giving ample light through most of the battery life. I change the batteries on the one in my bedroom and kitchen the most and that's a little over a month. Weigh that against the cost of having to use overhead electricity everytime, and the cost is very good. Worth the price.

Love these. You can adjust the brightness. It has a Toggle switch to make it just a motion light for day or night or just a motion light when dark. Can also toggle it to stay on as long as you wish. You fasten a piece to the wall and then the actual light has a magnetic back that you place on the wall piece this makes it very easy to remove when it’s time to change batteries or even just to change the setting. Best night light I’ve used. Perfect for stairs and more.

It functions as advertised:MODES> The night only mode is super useful and only activates when the ambient light drops. It doesn't have to be totally dark though.> The AUTO function activates the light no matter what the lighting condition.> The ON function obviously keeps the light on.MOTION ACTIVATIONThe motion activation is super accurate. It hasn't even missed once and coverage area is as it should be. The light only stays on for 20 seconds after the last detected movement.ADJUSTABLE LIGHT INTENSITYYou can adjust the intensity of outputs in steps of 3.POWERING THE UNITUsing rechargeable AA batteries, you can put these lights to many cycles of use without wasting disposable 1 time use batteries that are detrimental to the environment, even if recycled. It is the only way to run them cost effectively. Invest in a bunch of rechargeable and reusable AA batteries if you haven't already along with a multi-slot charger so you can charge all the 18 batteries required to run this set in one go. Each unit needs 3. The models with internal batteries that can't be replaced are destined to be disposable and waste planet's resources. These will last as long as the internal electronics hold up.The description says battery lasts for month but that is on the basis of you activating the light 6 times a day. If you place these in high traffic areas or you pass in front of them too often, you should obviously expect to recharge the batters sooner. The light will shut off if the batteries are too low. I charge all batteries every two weeks since they get activated hundreds of times day and night.BRIGHTNESSIt says it is 150 lumen and very bright. Even with two of them close together under a cabinet above the kitchen sink, it is still only moderately bright by my standards. Usually this is as good as it is going to get with battery operated lights vs. USB lights that are powered from a wall outlet are typically brighter.Perhaps it is fine for a typical distance of cabinet above a counter, but once you add a sink's depression that luminosity diminishes. This in spite of both lights adjusted for maximum output. You should have a gauge of what 150 luminosity looks like to see if it fits your purpose. Overall, it does the job and works fine and bright enough but not super bright. They are not meant to be precision work lights. In fairness, comparable AA battery powered models are much dimmer. This is the brightest model I've found.MOBILE CONVENIENCEFor those of you who may be into converting vans to mobile living quarters, a set of lights like these would save you all the headache of having to wire everything to a central battery. Best still, they are portable and can be hanged from anywhere where there is a nail or hook. You just pop in the AA batteries and you will be good to go. Those batteries can be taken out and recharged and reused for other priorities on trips and so serve as a good emergency backup power source.NO REMOTE CONTROLSome models that are considerably dimmer allow you to set the color temperature, hue and intensity and operate them remotely. This is not that kind of light. Everything is manual. They are made for different scenarios. These lights are best suited for applications when you don't need to control all the lights for the same effect and each scenario is different. They are meant to address different lightning needs; closets, stars, kitchen cabinets, etc.
