If you have a nice set of rims on your car you are looking to protect when working on your car, then this will help you out. The socket has a nice coating on the outside to prevent damaging the finish of your rims. It works well removing my rims and torquing them back on again.

I use a Milwaukee 1/2 inch electric impact with this and a 19mm and haven't had a problem yet. Sleeves still in tact, work great so far in everyday dealer use. I'd buy another before I pay 40 from a truck..

Pretty happy with this set of socket, made for an impact gun or a simple wrench. The 1/2" fit is nice and tight without any play. The sizing is on par and shows no play either when using on the properly sized nut.The colored sleeve is plastic and is loose on the socket, allowing to spin somewhat freely when using a manual wrench for example, as trying to hold it when using the socket on an impact gun could cause issues.The color of the sleeve makes it easy to spot in any toolbox and the sizing of the socket itself is easily readable where it is stamped.The insert of rubber, within the socket adds a small layer of protection towards wheel lug nuts for example, that are sometimes plated of color for looks. When using them carefully, they can indeed help alleviate damages on the nuts.Nice kit for any cars. Great addition to any toolbox.

Great to protect your aftermarket wheels. The half inch size was perfect for my impact wrenches. The non-marring coating doesn't detract from the strength of the socket. I tested the socket up to 80 ft-lbs.

Very nice thin wall socket for getting into tight places, and another quality product from Boen. I have several Boen sockets now, adapters, extensions, hex bits. These are quality units and Boen is a quality brand. I'm not a fan of the coloring, but I can live with it.

Exactly 1/2" drive, exactly 22mm socket, has a pink sock around it to protect your rims. The sock was installed cock-eyed but was easy to press down into place with my boot on the floor.The socket itself is pretty solid and isn't showing any signs of cracking or damage from poor manufacturing. I would be interested in seeing a kit put together of the common sizes instead of individual, but as a test run, this one is holding up just fine.

This socket performs as advertised, I found the outer material to be soft enough that it doesn't scratch up the rim when you are removing the lug nuts. What I like most about this socket is that it is colored in an easy to see color, making it nice and easy to spot in your toolbox. While the price for just one socket may be a bit on the higher end I still think that this is a decent product and an okay deal.

When we got our Honda SUV I was surprised to see that it uses 22 mm lug nuts. I've been so used to 19mm and 21mm in the past and never thought it would go past that. In fact I have a 40 piece impact wrench set, of the "maximum" variety, that only went up to 21mm! I checked my over 100-piece socket set and was lucky to find one 22 mm short socket that I could at least put onto a 1/2" breaker bar and torque wrench. We do our own tire changes every year from all-season to winters, and vice versa. Having only one socket is a bit of an inconvenience, having to keep popping it onto a different tool. I checked around to buy a 22 mm and interestingly it was a very rare socket to find, especially as a long socket and an impact socket! In the end I was able to purchase a single long socket (non-impact) from the local big box tire store but was never able to find a reasonably economical one for impact use. That's why I was happy to see Boen offered one, which I feel, is at a reasonable price for a 22 mm (again, because it is a rarer size). On the plus the Boen is a 6-point (not the terrible 12 point ones that mark your lugs so they rust!), it's thin walled and it's non-marring (with a sleeve)! Though, I compared it with my regular impact sockets and I can't really say the walls of the Boen are any thinner! Anyway, honestly, if you have sets of sockets already like me, being able to buy just the one you need is a bonus. I don't have to spend a lot more to get a whole bunch I don't need. Plus, a 22 mm impact is typically, from what I have seen, only included in the bigger sets that cost a lot.Overall, the Boen 22 mm impact socket is a nice heavy socket. My other impacts are black and oil covered so the Boen is much cleaner with the plastic sleeve. Although I do admit I am not a fan of the pink color. I will say it does stand out and will be easy to find though. It fits securely on my impact wrench but I did find there was a little more vibration from it than one of my other impacts (of comparable size) that I tried. Also comparing the walls I couldn't really tell the Boen was any thinner than my non-thin wall sockets. It would have been 5-stars if it wasn't for this and the extra vibrations from it. If you are looking for 22 mm though I would still recommend the Boen.
