I think the shelf is fine. My issue is that this is a standard budget quality shelf that seems to be twice as expensive as you would find in store and the quality doesn't seem to justify the price. I expected a better quality finish. It is better than your standard shiny plain plastic. It has a pretty wood grain effect that shows in the light. But it is not particularly robust and the application/edges is quite crappy. A lot of excess glue which does mostly just rub off. It's all the chipping that I find unacceptable. You can touch it up with some white paint and it would be okay....but I expect something brand new to be in much better shape and if I hadn't received this for review .... I would have returned it. It wasn't just one crappy edge.However, if you need a shelf delivered to your door that is two feet wide and almost five feet tall this is a decent choice. It does have that two tiered effect which makes this more visually interesting than the usual offerings.I did like the finish of the
