Although mainly marketed for marine applications, I build bespoke electronics and I needed a high current low voltage connector for an external battery bank to connect to an uninterruptable power supply (UPS).This is perfect for my need and superb quality. The panel mounted socket is strong thick plastic and has a combined sealing gasket and cover (the cover is the single bit that could be a bit more substantial). There are even mounting bolts/nuts/washers supplied. It is pre-fitted with some ultra flexible silicon sheathed leads, long enough for my needs.Likewise the plug is very solid like it would survive being stepped on with a boot easily. The spring loaded locking mechanism is excellent, I need to be able to remove easily for service but can't risk accident disconnection for even a split second. The connection pins look meaty. There are crimps supplied, personally on the plug side I will be shortening the leads and soldering to my cable then adding layers of adhesive lined heatshrink. I have not tried soldering it yet, the cable metal looks a bit odd, will be interesting.Overall this is just what I need and is going to make the final stage of my project so much easier. Therefore to me its probably worth the £30 but I do appreciate to some it may seem pricey.

Seems electrically like a good two wire connector. Will see how long lasts in the elements.

I have a golf cart that has an issue with phantom-draw from the battery. Its a gas golf cart. I have never been able to figure it out. New batteries, new alternator, wiring replacement, spark plugs, etc. Nothing seems to fix it. The golf cart really only gets used maybe once or twice a week, and between uses the battery tends to die. It's a pain to get into the engine bay to get the battery on a charger, too. But every time I put it back in the barn, I have to get it plugged into a battery tender or it will not be ready to go next time I need it.I drive a Tesla normally, and have always thought it would be awesome to be able to plug in the golf cart and other things like the lawn mower in like I plug in the Tesla. an EV-style quick-release type plug.Enter this product. I was able to wire in one side directly onto the battery of the golf-cart, drilled a hole right through the plastic body panel by the battery, and mounted the female portion of this there with a bit of silicone and glue to ensure its sturdy.I then cut the alligator clips off of the battery tender that I hook up to the golf cart battery, and replaced them with the male end of this connector in their place. Now, I am able to pull the golf cart into the barn and plug in the cart. No more seat latches and pulling the release levers to get into the engine bay. An EV-style plug-in like I wanted! It saves me time, and keeps me safer - avoiding the hot engine bay after a long ride around my property.I ordered 3 more of these with my own money to install on the lawn mower, four wheeler, and dirt-bike next. One of the best things I've ever done!

The Cerrxian 90 degree trolling motor plug and socket set arrived neatly packaged within a windowed plastic wallet bearing the Cerrxian branding. In the set you get a 2 pin 90 degree angled plug, a 2 pin straight panel socket with rubber seal/cover, 4 screws, 4 washers, 4 nuts and 4 cable crimp connectors. The cable supplied with plug and socket is 8AWG marine grade copper and is rated at 50 amps continuous power. Both plug and socket are nicely moulded and have no rough edges or moulding flash and are finished in black with a contrasting blue release collar.Included crimps make installation simple for most electrical setups.Good value for a high quality connector set.

The CERRXIAN Trolling Motor Plug Receptacle Set,90 Degrees 2 Pin 8AWG 50Amp Marine Boat DC Power Connector,Waterproof Trolling Motor Quick Connect,12V/24V/36V/48V Male&Female Trolling Motor Connectorseems good quality and well made. The two halves mate together tightly and seem to make a water tight bond. When pressed together there is an automatic locking mechanism that engages and ensures the two cannot be disconnected until the lock is released manually. The rubber cap that covers the port when not in use is OK but I would prefer to see a cap that screws on / locks on in some way so as to prevent accidental removal and potentially expose the pins to water / salt. When i stripped the wire and fanned out some of the strands and held a lighter to them they shriveled and melted away, usually indicating aluminum wire; however, the strands are very fine so maybe they are copper, I am not convinced but I admit this may not be a definitive test. The butt connectors included should work to connect them to longer wires but they are not sealed and not the best for marine applications that need to keep out water and salt. Get yourself some marine grade heatshrink tubing (the stuff with the goo that seeps out when heated) to cover the butt splices once they are made.I do not have a milliohm meter but my regular ohm meter measured low resistance through the connection. Not a great test but at least there is no unexpected high resistance in the connector.I am not able to test it to the rated 50A to see how it performs.Overall it seems like it should work for most applications and is reasonably priced at ~$40 at the time of this review.

Going out with my boat for a weekend fishing adventure has always been a pleasurable getaway, but it's essential to have dependable gear. The robust trolling motor plug and socket kit has rapidly turned into a crucial component of my boating arrangement. Featuring 8AWG marine-grade copper wire and a continuous 50A rating, it delivers the strength and reliability my trolling motor requires, even in challenging situations.A notable aspect is the self-locking mechanism. When I attached the male plug to the female socket, I felt assured that the automatic locking feature would hold everything firmly in position. This design avoids unintended disconnections while in use, which is essential when you're traversing rough waters. The 90-degree connector is a clever enhancement; it sits tightly against the wall of my boat, minimizing the chance of cable damage due to bending. I also appreciate its IP67 waterproof rating and the dust cover that safeguards the connection when it's not in operation. This resilience guarantees that I can depend on it year after year, enhancing every fishing excursion without concern for gear malfunction.
