About this item

  • PROTECTIVE DESIGN: The original Z-screen’s unique shape keeps pitchers protected while throwing baseballs or softballs during on-field batting practice. It stands on the lookout for line drives so pitchers can focus on form and technique.
  • ADAPTABLE SHAPE: The reversible design accommodates both right and left-hand pitchers and allows them to pitch both overhand and underhand. Just turn the screen around to switch between left and right-hand pitchers.
  • DURABLE STEEL CONSTRUCTION: Built with 18 gauge 1.5-inch diameter steel tubes, the Field Z-Screen provides protection for every level of on-field play. Its durable steel frame withstands impact and deflects balls without breaking.
  • WEATHERIZED 45-PLY P.E. NET: The durable envelope-style net slides over the frame and attaches securely around the bottom tube with bungee straps. Made of 45-ply weatherized polyethylene, it provides protection through the elements.
  • QUICK ASSEMBLY: Put it on the practice field right away with the quick pushpin assembly and start perfecting the pitching and hitting skills that make your team competitive.

Definitely higher quality than I thought it would be. Assembled in just a couple of minutes. Only down side is there is no carry bag. That would be a nice feature if you are transporting to practices/fields. Other than that, this Champro is a must have and could save your life or at least a limb or the family jewels. Don’t say I didn’t warn ya.

We purchased this screen for our backyard batting cage, and are extremely happy with it. We use the Heater 12x24x12 cage system and needed a screen since we're choosing to not use a pitching machine except on occasion. With the Heater brand using an arch system, we thought a regular L-screen wouldn't be appropriate, so the first thing that drew us to this screen was its Z design. Secondly, the price was affordable compared to other screens, so that was a bonus. The screen arrived quickly and was safely packaged. I was really impressed by how nice it was when I pulled it out of the box. The parts are nice, nicely welded and have some weight to them, its not flimsy. It literally took maybe 5 minutes to assemble the parts forming the Z shape, and then maybe another 5 minutes to put the net over the screen. It came with 4 stakes to use on the screens legs to keep them in place, but from our use, they arent needed. Its not moving. My son is 12, has an exit velocity of over 70+ mph and the screen took quite a few of them with ease. Remember, our cage is only 24 ft long, and he's maybe 17 feet away from me, so those balls are easily zooming at the net close to 100 mph. The screen is awesome. The one thing I think the manufacturer can improve on is that they also give you 5 bungee ties to use on the bottom of the net to keep it in place. We chose to not use them, and instead used 4" black zip ties and zip tied each side of the net on alternating sides. This keeps the net down closer to the horizontal base pole that supports the legs. Ive been hit in the foot once before by one of my sons hits and my toe was purple for a month, so this made more sense to us and I think they should maybe consider switching to the zip ties instead of the bungee cords. If you need a nice, affordable, well made screen, then please consider this one. I think you'll find it to be a nice product and definitely a smart decision if you're planning on standing in front of a batter and pitching some BP to them.
