Bell stopped ringing after a month. Poor quality. Spend a few bucks more for something better.

This is a plain bicycle bell, nothing fancy about it. You will need a Phillips screwdriver, which was included in my bike multitool, to install it, and the installation was easier than I originally thought. It's straightforward to operate. I would have liked it to be a bit louder, but it is adequate. For the price, it does the job really well.

With our bike paths becoming more crowded, it seemed like a good idea to get a bell. This is a very simple and fairly small bell. It was easy to install with only a single screw to tighten the clamp. It fit my handlebar fine and grips with enough force that it doesn't move when used. The screw screws into the plastic band/housing...so you want to tighten it but be careful not to strip it.The bell itself is just a metal cup on a plastic mount. Next to the cup is the plastic striker button, mounted on a spring. You push the striker away from the bell and then release and, as one would expect, it goes ding. The tone is on the higher side and volume depends on how far you bend the striker away from the bell before you release it, but the ding seems just a tad quiet on average...still should be heard by most unless they are listening to music with headphones/earbuds at a loud volume.Overall construction seems adequate, the weak point may be the striker mechanism itself. The striker seems to be pressed into the end of the spring, with the other end of the spring pressed onto the plastic mount at the base of the bell, and I could see this possibly coming loose over time...will update the review if it does. The striker also sits 4 to 5 mm from the bell face, so it requires you to push the striker fairly far in order for it to ring...would like to see it about half the distance for easier use and possibly to get a louder ding.Overall it seems like an adequate bell, and at the current price of approximately $6 is in-line with other offerings.

This bell is easy to install and has a great sound. The problem I've encountered is with the lever for the bell. Normally bike bell levers are pushed with the thumb and require constant pushing pressure, moving forward. This bell is much different. It requires me to flick the lever hard but then get my thumb or finger out of the way. Out of the box this is ok but while riding, I put my thumb on the lever and there's no resistance for the bell to ring. I have to partly lift my hand off the bar to get my thumb to flick the bell lever just right. This style may work for some but is a distraction to me while riding.
