This is the fourth time I've bought this filter for different taps in different houses. I love it. It's a relatively easy set up and the ez filter works better than a Brita and so much cheaper and more convenient in the long run. No need to get frustrated when someone doesn't remember to refill a pitcher. If you live in Canada the included connector for the water line likely won't work. Save frustration and order the correct connector at the same time. Search Amazon for B07JVM7WLS - for us with the 3/8 braided lines it worked - this one is a 3/8 x 3/8 x 1/4 connector. This was $20.I wish I could put one in at my work as well! Highly recommend!

I bought this along with the Culligan RVF-10 Level 1 Recreational Vehicle External Water Filter for use in my Camper/Trailer that is parked in a seasonal campground. The Water supplied at the Campground we have our trailer in has a horribly pungent sulfur smell to it, they get it tested regularly and while it is technically safe to drink I wouldn't drink or cook with it it because of the distinct smell/taste being so off-putting. The Culligan RVF-10 Level 1 Recreational Vehicle External Water Filter got rid of a lot of the smell it didn't quite get me to where I wanted to be for drinking or cooking so I bought this setup for Point of use at our kitchen sink and the combination of both filters gets me exactly where I need to be or I'll be honest "Close enough" I'd say it's about 95% of the way.I'll now drink it if I don't have bottles of water on hand as I no longer gag, it is however now fine to use for cooking, coffee, tea or even ice is okay with it the combination of filters. As for pressure it's similar to other Point of Use water filters like this, it'll take a while to fill up a big pot.Installation was a breeze, everything fit the connectors that were in place.

It was fairly easy to install, plastic pieces surprisingly have an OK strength. However, don't treat them as they are steel. The adapter worked perfectly under my sink, on the faucet connector side. I have added a layer of Teflon plumber tape on the threads, just because I didn't want to twist the plastic adapter too hard (to compress more the rubber gasket). The filter cartridge itself has a mark that has to be aligned with "Unlock" position when inserted (check inside the base if the receiver is aligned the same way first) and will align with "Lock" when fully seated. Attention, it has another "stop" before that, if you leave it there you will have water flowing under sink.Suggestion keep the base steady with the other hand, to relief the rotating pressure, when installing the filter. My unfiltered water is normally clear when poured directly in glass, but tastes bad because the Chloramine content (city switched from Chlorine recently). This takes a long time to clear, longer than Chlorine. Will kill fish too.The filtered water, in same glass, has almost microscopic white specks that float at surface that eventually disappear. Hard water (with calcium) feels a little slippery on fingers, Chloramine/Chlorine masks that. The included battery for filter monitor is a nice touch - it gets installed in the faucet holder. The bad: The kit provided faucet has a handle that turns the "wrong" way. If you grew up and you are used with rotating faucets, counter-clockwise turns water "on", clockwise is "turn water off". You don't even think about that.If you work on cars and bolts, screws, you don't have to think either, clockwise is "tightening", easy to associate with water being "squeezed" off.Well, surprise, now you have to think again, because now "clockwise" is turning the water "on"... I took one star away for this. This is because they decided to position the handle pointing down and you have to pull towards you to let the water flow. If the handle was initially pointing up, the same movement towards you would rotate the handle the right way.

UPDATE Sep 2019:It's been more than a year using the SAME CARTRIDGE. Our water processing plant is currently having issues with the quality of water and its coming out of the pipes very dirty. Using just the BASIC cartridge, the water comes out crystal clear, drinkable. This baby is amazing. Still no leaks whatsoever. Buying another replacement cartridge now just in case.Oh, the nut that tightens the unit to the sink broke because its plastic. Just buy a steel nut and problem solved. Should cost you like 3 dollars.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ORIGINAL REVIEW:After reading the reviews on this, I was skeptical. Some people said that the filter was not of enough quality or that it would not filter the necessary impurities. I considered that we live in a metropolitan area where the city water is just about decent. So we went with the basic filter option. Also, a reverse osmosis system is very expensive and wastes a ton of water (about 3 gallons of waste per 1 gallon of drinkable water).I have to say the results are amazing, even with the Basic filter:- No solids or visible impurities in the water. This means no "floaties" or "flakes" which is the way people refer to the calcium, manganese or magnesium precipitates that can be seen in cold or room-temp water. Although these precipitates are harmless (they in fact occur naturally in other foods we eat), they taste funky and look rather discouraging to drink. This filter took out all of that.- The taste of the water is great. Even at room-temp, the water is easy to drink and delicious.- the water pressure is quite nice with the basic filter. (see pictures)As for the installation, just follow the instructions and a few Pro-tips:PRO TIP: The mark included in the white silicone tube is 5/8 inch long. When you cut the tube to your liking, go ahead and mark the other side so you'll have no trouble fitting it to the right depth.PRO TIP: If you need to drill the extra hole in your sink. It will require the 9/16 bit. I tried the 5/8 hole as mentioned in the instruction, but the white tube does not fit. Use these to drill the hole:- TEMO M35 cobalt 9 size double flute step drill 3/8" shank 1/4" to 3/4"- CRC 03400 16oz Truetap Cutting Fluid Heavy Duty- Starrett 117C Center Punch With Round Shank, 4" Length, 1/8" Tapered Point DiameterYou can check out my reviews on these 3 tools as well, for more details on how to use each for this application.PRO TIP: DO USE plumber's tape (the white one) on all male fittings. This will ensure no leakage.PRO TIP: when i first turned on the water, nothing came out. This was because the filter needed to click TWICE when tightening it in. Just make sure its nice and tight.Installation observations:- No leaks whatsoever were observed. A few people have complained about leaks, for us, this was not the case. We did use plumber's tape.- The process was very straightforward. Took us more time to clear out the area under the sink, than it took to install.- We left the filter loose (did not mount with screws) to be able to take it out and replace it easier.

The filter works very well, the tap is plastic, and it did not matched the color and stile of the tap we had, I am not saying that it will break, I have experience installing plastic pipes and the worst enemy is overtighten because you create stress that after some time will cause the plastic to break.I replaced the tap from the kit for this one https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00LZ0H9VC/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0that matched our existing tap better. The installation is not difficult, but consider that if the fittings for your kitchen tap are not 1/2" you will need to buy some extra parts. In my case I need to buy a tee 3/8 with a 1/4 branch to get the connection for the 1/8 tube. We live in Toronto and the problem with the water is the strong taste to chlorine, and this filter eliminated the taste and odor completely.I would recommend this filter to any one, if you use the tap provided, remember not to overtighten it.

So far this has been working very well. I have been using it about 1 month now. It's a nice change from pitcher filters, which we have used for years. Filters in those pitchers get clogged quickly. I hope this won't be the case with this Culligan.A thing to be aware off is that it takes some effort to install it if you don't have the kitchen sink with water filter outlet already. I needed to purchase the right bits to drill a hole of the right size. I order them from Amazon. I also found a tutorial at Youtube how to do it. The person used water to cool down bits while drilling and it worked for me. I did a pilot whole with the small drill first. The drills I used: BOSTITCH BSA18TM 1/8-Inch Titanium Speed Tip Drill Bit and DEWALT DW1622 5/8-Inch Black Oxide 3/8-Inch Shank Reduced Shank Twist Drill Bit.Overall connecting everything to a standard sink wasn't too complicated, though the parts are plasticy - a bit cheap, but they work. I installed additional valve before the filter following a youtube tutorial (JG Speedfit PPSV040808WP 1/4-Inch by 1/4-Inch OD Valve Start). And it was helpful to troubleshoot some leaks I had while instilling other components. The biggest problem was to connect the tube from the filter to the filter faucet. Somehow the instruction doesn't exactly explain how do it in details. The little plastic part broke while I was twisting the screw on. I needed to get one from a hardware store to replace it. I would recommend to first connect everything without attaching to faucet to the sink and check if it works. Then, if there are no leaks, disassemble the connection, install faucet on the sink and screw the connection again. I used white sealant tape (Dixon Valve TTC50 PTFE Industrial Sealant Tape from Amazon) with every screw connection. Finally, the quality of filtration appears to be good. I did't do any real tests. Definitely it taste better, though maybe not as good as some pitcher filters we have had before. But it's just some much more comfortable to not to deal with pitchers. So far this has been a great value for the money.

I looked at a ton of water filters on Amazon and found it difficult to find a clear winner. There’s a huge swing in price and complexity on these things and the reviews are all over the place on all but the most expensive. I decided on this one because of price and simplicity. My short review is that it works great, my water tastes good, and it meets my needs. The longer answer...As usual when you have a product that requires you to install it yourself, you have a bunch of people giving it 1 star and claiming defects. The majority of the complaints about this product are about leaking and most people seem to blame that on low quality hardware that comes with it. All the hardware is made of plastic and while I wouldn’t call it “heavy duty”, it is plenty adequate for handling a thin line of low pressure water. Also, lets not forget the low price. If you feel you need all metal parts and a high end faucet, there are plenty of more expensive options out there. The unit also only comes with a connector for 1/2" lines, which they should have stated in the description. If you happen to have another size you will have to make a trip to the hardware store.I’d say the majority of the problems people have come from:- Over tightening.- Not properly cutting the hose that comes with the unit.- Bad Gaskets in your existing hose.Over tightening the connectors can put too much pressure on the seals and cause them to leak. You only need to get them good and finger tight then turn a little more with a wrench. The unit comes with a hose which you have to cut. You need to cut this with a utility knife or other sharp blade. Scissors or similar cutters that involve squeezing can mash the hose while cutting it. This hose has to stay round and the end needs to be cut flat to make a good seal.Odds are your existing cold water hose has been on there for several years.. The rubber gasket in the connector could be falling apart, hardened, or just become moulded to the shape of the pipe its been connected to for so long and won’t make a good connection to anything else. That’s what happened with mine. I had a major leak after first putting this thing together. Do yourself a favor and just go ahead and replace the hose when you install this. They're 5-10 bucks and you could probably use a new one anyway. After doing this, mine sealed great.Bottom line: Take your time, read the instructions, do it right and you'll have a good leak free filter.***Update: It's been a year since I installed this and not a single problem. Looks and works just like the day I bought it.

The hardest part to the installation was finding a sharpe enough drill bit to drill through a stainless steel sink. The rest was a breeze, it comes with all the necessary hardware and is pretty straight forward to hook up. The filter does a great job at eliminating the chlorine taste from tap water and I was surprised at the flow rate through the unit, it doesn't take ten minutes to fill a glass like other systems I've seen. I was a little disappointed with the faucet itself because the spout isn't as sturdy as I was expecting but for $40 it's definitely a good deal!

I can't comment on installation as I had a plumber come drill a hole in my countertop (Quartz) and use all his fittings/pipings to save me the headache. He did recommend changing a few of the OEM parts as he's seen people have issues with them before.Pros:- The water is noticeably free of odor, taste, and particulates.- This filter can also be routed to a future hot water tap. (Plumber installed all required tubes and fittings for a marginal price).- Seems better than the Pur filter and Brita filters we had previously used and much cheaper since the filters last almost a year.- Very good value system, one of the best investments in a kitchen. Also frees up a lot of room in the fridge (No Brita Filter).- Uses almost no space under the counter.- Filter is easily changed, twist on and off.Cons:- The provided faucet is okay, it looks pretty modern and sleek and the nozzle rotates freely - but feels kind of cheap. I would recommend replacing this in the future. (Note that the faucet sold separately is over $30, so I thought of it as a freebie).- The handle on the faucet is oddly shaped and hard to operate one handed with wet hands (not very ergonomic).

Very good - easy to install, but the T fitting wasn't the right size for my shut-off under the sink so I had to buy a different one. The faucet feels a bit cheap but it does a great job for the price. Water tastes great! The filter lasted about a year and a half. I used it for coffee and it wasn't until the coffee started tasting bad that I realized the filter needed changing. I use this for drinking water now as the normal tap water has too much chlorine.

As other people have said this was no peach to install, the connections didn't meet up to the correct size pipe and we had to purchase about $15-$20 of additional hardware to adapt it to our water lines, also the faucet feels cheap and I doubt will last too long before it breaks/leaks.All that said the improved taste is way better. We did a compare test and the water from the filtered tap compared to the unfiltered was dramatically improved! For the low cost it is well worth the hassle of installing, the water tastes great, no chlorine smell and based only on taste I would prefer this filter over my sisters reverse osmosis system!
