Another great toy from the makers of the Da Bird. The Cat Catcher Teaser Wand toy has a cute little mouse attached to a flexible braided wire and then connected to a 12" glitter wand. The mouse averages 2 Inch in length with a tail that averages 3 Inch. A fantastic toy to interact with your kitty for play and exercise. Colors may vary. Inspect product often for rips or tears and remove toy if damaged or if parts become separated, as injury may result.

My 10 month old kitten loves this, and I have gone through maybe 5 mice that I have replaced on the wand. It simply doesn't last, but cats love it.I guess as it is handmade it may not last like a factory made one, but I wish there was a way to make them last longer. Within a couple hours the tail gets chewed off. Then within a few days the mouse ends up getting completely destroyed. So if you want something your cat will love, and you are willing to spend a lot of money continuously replacing them, go ahead and order it. Great for cats to play with.

Let's be honest, cat toys can be difficult... or so I used to think. My wife and I watched a few episodes of My Cat From Hell on a lark, and a toy that kept coming up was Da Bird. We were curious because every cat that saw the toy was immediately interested with a fervor I'd never seen. With that in mind, I bought Da Bird. My cats went crazy for it, leaping into the air like I'd never seen. Eventually, though, they grew bored with it, and I grew bored with having to replace the head every two weeks. Now, my two cats aren't what you'd call excellent climbers. They more closely resemble bush dwellers than aerial acro-cats. Then one day on Amazon, I saw that the same company producing Da Bird made a mouse toy. I thought, what the heck. I'll give it a shot. It's BY FAR the best cat toy I've ever owned. Probably the best cat toy on Amazon. I literally sprint down my hallway with "Da Mouse," and my cats sprint right after me... until they invariably fall to the floor, huffing and puffing from the exertion. I'm not joking, they plop over winded. They're sort of competitive. One is more of a stalker, the other is more acrobatic... so I have to hide it behind corners for the stalker, and run it around the apartment like a crazy person for the other. Either way, we all get a workout.Another bonus is that it's a lot more durable than Da Bird, just don't let your cats chomp on it for any length of time after they've caught it. Eventually, it wears down to a shadow of what it was. You probably won't even notice over time until your cats get uninterested in it. If you buy a new one, you'll realize WOW, it's so plump and fuzzy looking compared to the remaining deflated nub. Now, THIS IS IMPORTANT: I saw a review complain about how there's a metal bar going through the middle of the mouse, that it cut up their cat's mouth, and that it's terrible. It's a shame that that happened. I truly sympathize, BUT it's completely avoidable. Remember when I said don't let your cats CHOW down on this thing? Well, in order to keep the fur on, the company uses a tiny metal bar. Because of this "skeleton," Da Mouse is stable and will last you a long time IF you are responsible about not letting your cats eat the darn thing. Simply put, Da Mouse is a chase toy. You have to know what you're getting into when you purchase it. If you want to flick your hand around and have your cats nom on whatever it is, this isn't the toy for you. It requires a commitment to activity that matches the output of your cats. What I do is play with my kitties before feeding time, let one of them catch it after 7-10 minutes when they're winded, then I feed them. They want to play with it a little bit, but they're far more interested in getting food in their bellies. Then I put it away and repeat. Presto! My mouse lasts waaaaaay longer, and there's no chance they'll chomp down to the bar. That takes effort and a lot of chewing. A typical Da Mouse toy lasts me several months of high octane cat sprinting. I am on my 3rd replacement mouse over a 2 year span, and I bought 2 more recently just in case. The way my cats' eyes light up whenever I walk toward the closet is priceless.Easily 5 stars. Know what you're getting into. Love the level of exercise you're introducing to your pets.

There are some fatal flaws with this item, primarily the make-up of the product is METAL, which has no business whatsoever being in a cat toy. The line is metal (I'm guessing a super high test fishing line) which connects to fishing swivels & connectors then to the flimsy mouse toy. I've noticed my cat trying to chew the metal parts several times (which are very close to the toy), maybe their jingle interested her; she could easily cut herself on the connector and the metal is absolutely no good for her teeth. Furthermore, I took my eyes off her for a moment and the mouse's tail disappeared, she chewed it off within 10 minutes of first playing with the toy; we kept a close eye on her for a couple days to make sure it didn't appear to be lodged in her system. This is garbage, judging by the design it's probably some fisherman's idea of what a cat toy should be without putting any real thought into it. Yes she loved it and went bonkers while it was out, but your cat's well-being was certainly NOT put into consideration when developing this product. Look at the photo I've attached and ask yourself if your cat has any business chewing on that. You're far better off using some paracord tied to a tennis ball where your cat cannot cut herself or swallow parts.

Let me explain my title. The five stars are from my cat, who loves this toy *so much* that neither her favorite treats nor a catnip-covered mouse toy will distract her. She's sitting at the end of the hallway right now, gazing wistfully between me and the bedroom. The hallway is where she lost sight of it as I quickly wisked it up in my hand and held it in front of me so she wouldn't see where I put it away (never EVER let your cat learn your hiding places, unless you enjoy being stampeded and then hollered at every time you go within a few feet of that location). The problem with this toy is that in my current home, it's too long. I live in approximately 600 square feet, and whoever designed the place decided an open concept area would be silly, so let's carve it all up into separate very tiny rooms. Once you add furniture and the general clutter that comes along with a place with absolutely no storage - well, she loves, loves, loves this toy but it's very difficult for me to play with her without risking something getting knocked over or her getting hurt if the mouse happens to fly in a slightly different direction than I intend to (which the wire makes somewhat inevitable, and she tends to go flying without consideration for whether there is, for example, a bicycle full of pointy bits leaning against the wall she's flailing toward). Also I see at least one complaint about this toy's construction, but I believe this toy is safe for a cat if supervised, and really for safety's sake any toy that has a string-like section should be put out of reach if you're not around, so as not to risk the cat getting wrapped up in it while you're not around to help. This toy is well made and I was pulling at the metal bits to see if I could make it a bit shorter and can't get it apart - I don't leave her toy out for her to chew on so what little chance her teeth get on it aren't going to make a dent. Meanwhile the wire bit is going to be a LOT harder for her to destroy than the string ones which have never lasted very long once inside the door.
