The product is easy to install, just maybe a little better hardware supplied could help. Had 2 of the 4 bolts supplied broke before tight could feel the bolts jam in the nuts before tight. (supplier issue???)How did it work? Better than expected. Idle speed both up and down water flow has dropped an average of 1 - 1.5 miles per hour on my setup. This is great since I believe in trolling at a speed of 0.8-1.4 mph and this was easy with the Davis 462 LIL FELLA TROLLING PLATE. Would I recommend this to another buyer?100%

Will not fit a 2002 mercury two stroke 8. Claims it fits a 6-15 this is a lie. The holes are not even close

After using for about 60 + hours it works great! Was installed on a 1985 Johnson/Evenrude 15 HP motorWhen installing place unit on top of fin to mark out and drill holes. In picture 1 make sure you leave about 1/2 to 3/4 inch from motor shaftUse C-clamps to hold unit in place and work unit up & down to make sure metal bar does not contact motorDrill holes from top and then attach unit to under fin, do not over tighten boltsPicture 4***travel with unit down while towing boat on trailerPicture 2***have unit up before backing into water*** oil PIVOT areas before using, much smother operationUSING:To tilt plate down for a slow troll, put motor in NEUTRAL and pull cord and it will drop into placeTo tilt plate up, troll slowly and pull cord and unit should come up and lock into position.(Might require a little extra shot of gas)******Beginners get frustrated at the beginning because while the boat is going forward in gear they expect when they pull the cord the plate will lock down into trolling position. MOTOR SHOULD BE IN NEUTRALNOTE: Cord is long, tie it to something so when you are pulling the trailer it is not blowing out the back and getting caught on something that could wreck your unit

I accidently broke the holding bar on it...nobody in Canada had that part in stock. U.S (California) only had it with a 3 weeks waiting time. 27 $ plus trsp. Other than that, really ok little trolling plate.
