Have used this on kia, mazda and honda bearings and also on some trailing arm bushings. Just be sure to put grease on the threads before use and put away clean.

This item is heavy!! 25lbs. And free shipping to boot. As advertised although it looks more substantial un the 'flesh', so to speak. Looks like it will do the job of changing out the rear wheel bearings on my car.

I needed this to remove rear wheel bearings on a 1989 Porsche 944. There is a good selection of discs to fit the bearing size. There were no instructions but it is pretty self explanatory what you have to do. I read another review that suggested using a thrust bearing washer on screw end where you tighten - that made sense and I bought a couple of 10mm washers even though you only need one. I applied some heat beforehand and used the tool with an impact drill (a ratchet will work), and the bearings popped out. Will definitely use this again but the for the price, it was invaluable to get it done quickly and without any damage.

No worry about stripping the threaded rod or nut, not in any hurry anyway. I had at it with my strongest 1/2 CP impact and yes the threads look a tad worn, but nothing alarming. The long nut is idiotcly counterbored for at least 1/2 of it's length, still it's the equivalent of 1.5 nuts. It's a decentish tool, wasn't the entire solution for me.Anyway, 98 accord, not very rusty. Hub was stuck tight, bearing was pooched. My slightly lame slide hammer did nothing except pinch me, again. Pulled the spindle and used my press. The bearing outer race was really tight, this tool didn't do it. It was a workout for my 12t press to move it, eventually it went BANG and jumped out a 1/4" I applied the tool, it worked pretty well, pulled the old bearing the rest of the way out and pulled my new $24 amazon no name I've head of before bearing into it's cleaned and lubricated new home. I pulled the hub in with this tool, had to use my stronger 1/2 impact again. Viola! Even though this tool is not the entire answer, it's a great help. The discs and tubes are a pretty great addition to a shop press, for that alone it's worth the price. The threaded rod ought to be 3/4 fine thread, buy some ready rod 12" would do, get a pair of matching coupling nuts too. That should make success with hand tools more likely. With the coarse threaded bolt supplied it took a while for my decent impact wrenches running on an oversized air compressor to get the bearing and hub into place. Using hand tools would have been tough. Maybe impossible for pulling out my frozen bearings, though a hammer could have been used instead of a press. With a press, air, and tools to separate ball joint and tie rod ends this tool made changing the bearing about 75% less of a pita. That's worth it to me. Without this tool I've ended up whacking the mess forever with hammers then cutting and shattering the outer race of the bearing to get it out of the spindle not a fun job.

This bearing puller worked like a charm. I bought some thrust washers to go with this puller and there was no issues with removal or installation of a new bearing and hub.- Use thrust washers- Oil the shaft of the bolt- Use a plate that covers the outer part of the bearing for removal and installation- Use a plate that covers the inner part of the bearing for installation of the hub

Aloha,Let me start by stating that I almost never write a review for anything. I think that this might be the 4th, or 5th review that I have ever written. This item deserves a few words. I assumed that this kit was nothing more than a cheaply made bunch of junk that would most likely break upon the first use, but worth the cost if I could just get the job that I needed it for done. Well...what can I say, other than I guess that I'll never learn to stop assuming the worst about things that I've never seen. This kit is very well made, and I suspect that it will be working well for many many years. The assortment of tools that are included in this kit should make the changing of pressed in front wheel bearings a breeze on any vehicle. The description of the product and what's included really do not do it justice. The description, and the pictures of the kit in the ad had me very concerned that the tools that I needed were not included in this kit, and to me, it looked like a toy. Well... in this case a picture is not worth a thousand words.I'd say that the vehicle that I was needing the tool for probably has one of the larger pressed bearings that are used on today's vehicles, and the tools that are included in this kit handled the job with ease. One of the reasons that I decided on this kit was the ability for use of an impact gun, which some other kits in this price range say you can not use.How well does it work ? Well... I spent less than an hour changing the front wheel bearing on a 2000 Nissan Quest. There was no need for removing the bearing/steering knuckle from the vehicle, which saved the need of a front end alignment after the job was done. Yes, I changed the bearing right on the vehicle. What did I save?Well, lets see, the machine shop quoted 100 bucks just for removing and installing the bearing, there was no need of a front end alignment which saved another 100 bucks, and, there was no time, or fuel used taking the part to the machine shop, or the need for returning to the shop to pick up the finished part the next day. Also, there was no need for spending an additional hour or so removing and reinstalling the bearing/ knuckle.,Bottom line... If you need a good quality bearing replacement kit for not a lot of money, I highly recommend this kit. But watch it, there are many kits that look like this kit for about the same cost, but those kits may not be this same quality. Then again, some kits could be better quality, but I doubt that a kit could be better in quality at this price level.Just make sure that the description says that an impact gun can be used, and if so, the kit should be OK.Aloha.
