Perfect fit. I have a Roman tub and the faucet/handles/shower head is a set made by Peerless. After researching, I found that the internal parts are made by Delta. My issue was like everyone else’s, when lifting the diverter rod to use the shower head, the rod would just pop right out. It was because the internal threads (on this item) were completely worn out. This is because the tension is very high when pulling on the rod and there are only 3 threads on the rod to work with. Bad design. So I found this replacement and it dropped in perfectly. All you need is a 1/8” Allen wrench to remove the set screw from the main faucet. Once that’s loose, slightly twist and lift it straight up and off. It is not threaded. Next, using a pair of channel locks and lift the diverter assembly (this item) straight up and out. It is not threaded easier, but is held in by an O-ring. Drop the new one in and replace the faucet and set screw and you’re done. Should only take about 5 minutes. Works as advertised. Seems like the lift force required with the new assembly is a bit lighter than the original which is good. Hopefully this makes the threads last longer.

This product looked exactly like the diverter that I had to replace. The job was easy after watching the videos that showed how to take the faucet apart and put it back together. The diverter works perfectly. The lever in the faucet to divert the water to the handheld can be screwed in too far. It still works but has play in the lever. Only a few turns were necessary and it works with no play. Not sure why it is designed like that, but that is the design, not the diverter. The new one worked exactly the same.

The valve fits well and works fine. But I would fire the person who came up with such a terrible design. The threading is weak and the valve will probably need to be replaced again in a few years. Shame on you, Delta!

I purchased this item to replace my shower diverter valve that had failed because the spring put too much force on the lift rod threads and caused them to fail.The threads and rod are too small for this task and there is no simple way to upgrade it. I took the diverter apart by unscrewing the assembly and then cut about 3/4 inch off the spring. I then reassembled it and installed it in my tub. It works much better now but I suspect it will fail before it should.
