Battery fits perfectly and works perfectly for Dell inspiron 17-7778 model.I’ve not tested for more time, definitely works fine since it’s new and not sure how much it will last for. May be it will last for couple of years..

Update after a few more full recharge/discharge cycles:no longer losing energy while laptop is asleep - so added one star. I will update if I find the battery lasts longer than 1-2 hours.Original review:I did the discharge -charge cycles a few times as instructed and am getting less than 2 hours is use for briefing and email. That is a big fail.

This battery is not OEM, and it's 55Wh and not 56Wh. Besides that, it works fine in my G7 from 2018. It replaced a swollen battery that didn't last for 45 min, and it last around 4h now if not gaming.

Bad BMS and shows good status but not able to power laptop. Laptop works fine in another brand of battery.Either a lemon or a designed flaw which reports to laptop no issues but won’t carry a chargeUpdated to 4 stars: Contacted Seller and replacement was quickly arranged (3 days turnaround). Replacement battery appears to be working so far.... Waiting to see how long this battery works..

This fit My Dell G5-15-5587 laptop perfectly. I replaced the battery when it had reached a run time of 45 minutes. The new one runs 3-4 hours which is great for this power hungry laptop when not running heavy duty games.Good price and so far - good quality.

This battery went into my wife's Dell 17-7779 laptop. After checking out a YouTube video, to get an idea about the job, I decided to tackle it myself... the job was quick and easy, the necessary screws drivers were supplied, although you only need the Philip's headed one...one caveat about using the video..it doesnt address the instructions on the initial set-up of your battery like the included instructions want you to do...so dont forget to follow the instructions on what to do after the battery is replaced because there is a small sequence of events you need to perform to maximize the longevity of the new battery...this was a very good purchase that gave me a reason to open up the laptop...lol..took about 15 minutes
