Pixel 8a phone can be set into this case face up while using belt clip OR face down into the case, further protecting the screen. Around the house, I prefer the screen face up and using the belt clip - faster mode to answer calls. On previous phones, I had used the Otterbox case, but they don't make it for the 8a, so had to search for a new type of case. I could not be happier to be using this "Encased Belt Case for Google Pixel 8a..."case. I do have a beautiful blue phone, so when I am not using the belt clip part of the case, the phone looks beautiful through the transparent case. In addition, I have a magnetic cell phone holder on my car vent, and this phone has the magnetic portion that works great with my already-existing holder in my car. The spring clip on the top of the belt clip works SO nicely with putting the phone in and out of it and holds it very safely face up or face down! I was NOT paid to say these things, and happily share this information because this case is really wonderful, and it may save people time in their search for a case for the Pixel 8a.

I've been buying these cases for all my smartphones, for years, and love them. Perfect for my uses. However, I always remove the belt clip from them. I don't need it, but I love the slide-on screen cover it's attached to.For the Pixel 8a, this new one is now using a rivet to hold the clip on, instead of the plastic assembly I used to easily remove. Unfortunately, this makes the case useless to me 😮💨 The belt clip prevents the phone from fitting in my pocket comfortably.It's a shame

In regards to shock absobtion, rubber will always beat plastic. That's why I normally ONLY buy Otterbox Defendor cases for my phones on account of its superior quality in most aspects.This product was all i could find that even remotely looked like one, which is why I am fairly disappointed. Given my disappointment, my rating is pretty low. But i'll still provide objective points:The GOOD:Although there is no screen protector, its format allows space for one that you will have to buy separately.The plastic case for the phone is very sturdy and slides very snuggly into the belt clip's plastic case, which eliminates all worry of it sliding out without notice.The belt clip's turning mechanism feels even stronger than the Otterbox's, which means it won't start turning on its own anytime soon.There is also a very useful integrated stand on the back of the phone case.The phone's side buttons are exposed, which is a plus for people who prefer that.The plastic case has a very smooth finish which feels pleasant in hand.The BAD:The plastic case of the phone slides into the plastic case of the belt clip so snuggly that, if you don't want to twist your belt around your waist, you will need both hands to pull it out.The exposed side buttons mean that this case won't provide extra protection against water infiltration.Since recent phones are now made with a heavy titanium frame, when holding the phone with one hand over a long period of time, the weight of it will force the very sharp top and/or bottom ridges of the phone's plastic case to prick into the soft skin on the side of your fingers. This is extremely uncomfortable and takes the fun out of playing long games or writing long texts.Given the phone's weight, i fail to see how this case's hard plastic could protect a phone from the vibrations of a hard impact, either from high up or with inadvertent velocity.Although the back stand seems very sturdy, with regular use, its cliping mechanism feels like it will stop cliping in no time.The plastic case's smooth finish makes it very slippery and easily dropable into and onto pretty any hazard.So, although i will always prefer the Otterbox Defendor cases, i feel both companies could benefit from a joint partnership on future products.

Out of all the phone cases I have tried, this one is the best. It is slim and smooth, but has a slightly grippy surface. I like that the buttons on the side are not covered. Sometimes other cases will cover the buttons with their own buttons. But I find those difficult to use. You can just tell the quality, fit and finish of the Encased brand is far superior to others. I have used Encased brand on previously used older phones and really liked them. So, when I bought this new Google Pixel 8a, I searched for the Encased Brand again. Not always easy to find, but well worth taking the extra time to find one! Some cases come with an extra Ring on the back side and this makes the case unusable for Magnetic chargers and most dash holders cannot accommodate the extra ring. This Encased brand will fit dash holders and allow for magnetic charging. this is the one to buy folks!

Bought this after having another brand 3 times. This slip in design takes a bit to get used to but the slim profile is a big plus. Sliding phone out of case takes a bit of practice but once you get used to it you will enjoy. Case is a bit slippery to hold and no screen protector. Not sure how it will protect when dropping phone but the fact it hasn't dropped out of holder onto floor is a major plus

After using several other holsters for my prior phone I got an Encased for it. All the others failed in normal use, the Encased did not. So when I upgraded to a new phone, Encased was the one for me.
