The following knit density sun block percentages are commonly used:
1.Pergola and patio covers: normally +/- 80% depending upon level of heat reduction desire
2.Swimming pool leaf covers: 30% will keep leaves out and 40% or 50% for needles
3.Wind screen panels: 60% up to 90% depending on need for privacy and wind blockage
4.Water treatment plants: algae control and chlorine contact channels typically use 90%
5.Spider diaper curtains: 80% or 90% under dock roof keeps spider poo off your boat
6.Koi pond leaf netting: +/- 40% unless you also wish to lower water temperature a bit
7.Greenhouse cover: 30% up to 60% shade factor based on plant lighting needs
8.Bug netting curtains: 65% is dense enough for larger insects and 80% + for smaller
9.Privacy fence: a single layer of 87% provides privacy from a distance and at angle
10.Paintball netting: 50% and above will stop paintballs from passing through

I bought to lower temperature to keep my lettuce going all summer. I put it up after my spring plants were finished and managed to get a second planting in July. I'm soon going to plant again.

Bought two very large shade cloths for my garden a couple of years ago from same, needed and extension for the garden so bought this smaller one, very good quality and protected my seedling and starter plants

provides excellent shade but more grommets on the sides would be preferred.....they also tend to tear easily the second season in use.

Gave it a 5 star but beware. 12 feet in China equates to 10 feet in north America. 8 feet in China equates to 6 feet in north America. I had to reorder larger size.

The edging pulls out of the grommets under moderate tension. I expect that it is because the edging is not thick enough. As a simple covering, it is ok.

had it up for 3 years now, I dont remove - I leave it up all year long... I have tinted corrugated poly sheet roofing and placed this sun shade underneath... working awesome so far
