Just plug it into the hdmi port and the unit ( a pi 4 in this case) behaves as if a monitor is attached.

It works as expected with one caveat. Monitor resolution is fixed at the highest level, so it is very hard to work when the target machine is in terminal mode. Because fonts are too tiny in that resolution.

My Ubuntu home server on my HP Prodesk Mini computer refused to boot on restart if no monitor was detected. Ordered this little dummy DP adapter, plugged it in and I can now reboot my server without any problem!

Using TeamViewer to connect to a faster workstation than my laptop is.Works perfectly, adjusting resolution to my monitor 3840 x 2160, and the second display to portrait orientation at 1080 x 2048.Nothing difficult. Plug into the Display Port on the remote computer, login with your Remote Desktop software, restart it, and voilà!.By the way. Have you heard Emma Kok with Andre Reiu singing Voilà?Amazing.

Tengo un mini PC sin monitor, al que accedo de manera remota y el formato y resolución de pantalla cambiaba haciendo imposible interactuar con él. UN amigo me habló de este producto y por ello me decidí a adquirir este producto.Al conectarlo a la clavija HDMI, emula y hace creer al PC que tiene un monitor conectado, evitando el cambio de resolución.Excelente relación calidad precio y perfecta funcionalidad.

As some of you know, using a remote tool like LogMeIn (GoTo), TeamViewer, or Splashtop, you cannot use multiple screens on a single screen host computer. When you want to run your remote computer headless (no physical monitors connected) for example, you need to emulate additional monitors, these devices work great! I highly recommend them. 4 months and still going strong!
