The locking feature works well and I haven't had any issues with that aspect of it. It's built very light weight, yet still feels sturdy enough to get the job done. It's easy to install and put up thanks to the thumbscrews. It also stores my son's snowboard well with room left over.

This rack is a really good value. The quality is excellent, and the installation will be easy. The instructions are very well-written and illustrated. I appreciate the ability to lock the rack in place to keep my skis secure. And the rubber pieces that hold the skis in place are thick and well-padded to protect them during travel. I highly recommend this rack!

The Gearantics 16.3 Inch Ski and Snowboard Rack is quick and easy to install if your vehicle already has cross bars attached, 4 hand tighten bolts and you're done. The rack itself can accommodate items up to 16.3 inch in width and just under 2 inch thick with the TPU rubber grips. I was able to easily fit 3 pairs of skis but only one snowboard, two snowboard side by side would have them overlap a bit, the 24.3 inch version would be a better choice. The rack has a large button release, great for gloves hands. The latch can be locked, it's marketed as anti-theft but I think it's more to prevent accidental opening than theft given you can just untighten the 4 bolts to remove the racks entirely, so I wouldn't use these if I were parking in some secluded area. But if that's not an issue these can definitely give you back some space in your trunk for other gears.

Installed on my racks with the included hardware. They fit two snowboards and have key locks with to keep them secure. The racks feel solid. The rubber is thick and seems like it will hold up. Now we can take the commuter on non-storm days and save some gas $$
