I got this to store my mother's (she has dementia) medications on top of her refrigerator. Since the door is the heaviest part of the safe, I placed a strong magnet under each corner to keep the unit firmly in place while open.The purchase does exactly what I bought it for, keep my mother safe because her med bottles confuse her.

This is the third faulty product from Amazon this year. So, basically I am going to stop buying stuff on-line for awhile. I had years of good experiences and then this year it has gone downhill.The package was totally torn upon arrival. It did not come in a protective box and as a result the actual product had scratches cracks at the corners and flaking of exterior finish.The locking mechanism works still.I am using this to keep a couple of tools at my desk safe as the public does have some small access. I don't need super high security just keep stuff locked away from opportunists.It still fills that task and the cracks on the corners and edges don't matter, but I would avoid this product if real security is what you are after.Probably a locking metal tool box would have been just as secure and probably cheaper and easier to swap locks out (combination or key or change as necessary). Now wishing I did that as it would look better than the way this product arrived all scratched and flaking finish. Plus it is not easy to get keys cut the advantage of a metal tool box seems obvious in hindsight.It feels cheap, but the lock still works so it is usable, but I am super disappointed and as mentioned cutting back on purchases from on-line as a result of having 3 fails this year from Amazon.

This little safe is great for keeping medications and documents away from kids. Not fire proof and not the most indestructible safe, but holds its own and came with all as advertised.The keys are very unique and I’ve yet to be able to pick this lock, though opening the door with a hammer or pry bar would be very easy. (Not trying to break it, as it suits our needs extremely well, so no video for reference of the hammer entry.)If you’re looking for a small safe for your home or a decoy for the workplace, this is a great option!Q-tip added in smoke photo for size comparison.

Update 12-16-16: Have now owned over two years. Still excellent. Lock works perfectly. No issues, still a great little safe.________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Forget the combination locks and electronic locks on a small, cheap safe. This thing is excellent, and the lock is always going to work right the first time, as long as you dont loose the two keys. Its small but very secure. Anchor it down, or its just a box for someone to walk away with. I have four safes, a massive TL_15 weighing in at 1900 lbs, a smaller fire proof safe for ammo, a safe with electronic lock just slightly larger than this, and then this one which I have anchored down and hidden in my travel trailer. I love this thing. Simple and very effective. Short of someone coming in prepared with serious tools and a crow bar, they arent going to open it. Its more likely they would pry it off the floor and steal it than be able to open it. Great product and the lock works great.
