This extension tube is designed to enable a lens to focus closer than its normal set minimum focusing distance. Getting closer has the effect of magnifying your subject (making it appear larger in the viewfinder and in your pictures). They are exceptionally useful for macro photography, enabling you to convert almost any lens into a macro lens at a fraction of the cost while maintaining its original optical quality.
The extension tubes have no optics. They are mounted in between the camera body and lens to create more distance between the lens and film plane. By moving the lens farther away from the film or CCD sensor in the camera, the lens is forced to focus much closer than normal. The greater the length of the extension tube, the closer the lens can focus.
The JJC Auto focus extension tube set for Nikon Z Mount camera and lens contains two tubes of different length - 11mm and 16mm - which can be used individually or together to obtain the desired magnification. Actual magnification effect changes with each specific lens.
Tips: When all the tubes are stacked together, you could find the auto focus does not perform very well, this is a problem in general for any brand extension tube set. The more/longer tubes you add the more you have to close up the aperture in order to get the subject in focus, thus the more light you need. This means your camera may have a hard time auto focusing because of the small depth of field you work with (the closer the subject the less depth of field you have). So compensate for it, use manual focus or set the camera on a tripod with a focusing rail.

Okay, for that price, right? Erm, I don't think it it's good.Well, since there is no Macro for my camera, I gave it a shot. After all, for that price, what could I lose?It turns out that this is great (see photo)! I'm from that time when extension rings on a camera meant that you loose quality. Not these. It also gives me so much flexibility as to how close or how far I want to be. How much magnification I want. And you can still use auto focus, auto everything (although I recommend F11 lens setting).

This is a nice set of extension tubes. I got these for my Z30. I got these to use mostly with my 16-50. Came quickly. Very well made. I was surprised that it came with a case :-) One thing I did find with the case was that the tubes fit quite snugly and would recommend putting them in edgewise (see photo) for easier removal. The autofocus works well though I usually use manual focusing usually for close up work.

Initially, I ordered another brand from a reputable (?) photo source and it was described as an extension ring with metal mount. To my greatest surprise, it was actually a nicely painted cheesy plastic mount. I returned it. I abondoned the photographic source and I stared searching Amazon. What a great source to find things that you need! The JJC extention rings for Nikon Z mount lenses were exactly the opposite of what the other ones were not! Both sides of the extension ring mounts (camera and lens) were made of metal (aluminium and brass, respectively), nicely machined and great copper contacts. It worked well and precisely. When you mount both rings there is a sligth play between the two rings what for me is expected. You can't completely eliminated the play less you play the game that the ring can get stuck on the camera or lens. Also, it comes with a really nice bag where you can store it safely and cleanly. I already have glass at various focal lengths and never could justify the hundreds of dollars to get a dedicated macro lens. These extension tubes are the perfect solution and I can enjoy the same optical quality I expect from my existing glass.Autofocus works great and it literally transformed my existing lenses into macro ones. Super compact too, a great accessory to keep in the bag

In fairness, its not that hard to make these because they're just empty tubes with the wiring for the lens passed along. But I have the nikon z versions and they work ok. Little loose here and a little too tight there but overall they're not bad... I wish they were weather sealed though as my camera and lenses are weather sealed and I have been saved a few times by said sealing... which these don't have

Used this on a Z7ii with the 24-70 2.8 S and it really does a wonderful job at letting you focus at a closer distance. The materials seem okay but nothing that will scream durability or quality. Over all a great buy for those macro shots that require closer focusing.
