Ordered to replace a leaking valve body. Much less expensive than replacing the entire fixture. Had it professionally installed. Working as it should.

Worked perfectly in my case. Other reviewers noted that their item seemed to be used. In my case, the solder work and general appearance of the lower parts of the valve looked like they had a sloppy solder job. But I don't believe it is a used valve. Whatever process they have to make this was not designed for a pristine appearance. I was concerned, but the pre-soldered joints did not leak at all. Also be aware that this particular valve does not include the aggressive clamping system under the deck. The image also do not show that system either. They show what you get. Two nuts and a washer for each valve body. That said, the valves hold just fine on the 2x6 based deck I built. At least one other reviewer mentioned the tubing was not aligned properly with the valve body. Either straight or perpendicular depending on which tube it was. On my valve they tubes were very close but not perfectly aligned. But I did not have any issues as a result. One other detail is that the tubing on this valve appears to be brass. Not copper. I was concerned about how the solder would hold but it did in fact hold fine. No leaks. I used a simple lead free solder and flux kit I bought at Home Depot with Map gas. When soldering this valve keep in mind the plastic cartridges can not be removed. So don't apply excessive heat and cool off the valve with something wet when you're done. I'm an amateur...(at best)... but this piece of advice from experts is worth knowing. So for function I think this is a fine valve. For finish? Not so much. I took away one star because it shouldn't look like they threw it off a mountain after making it. Appearance

A valve is a valve, but here is what I like about this one. First the nozzle can be located remotely. In my install I put the valves where they would be conveniently reached when out or in the tub. The nozzle is remotely located near the drain of a fairly long tub. The other reason I like this valve is that it is Moen. They really do take care of their customers with a lifetime warranty on valve inserts as well as the finish of whatever trim kit you order. You may pay a little more , but it is the last one you will buy. Moen gives me a very old school, high quality, American made experience. I wont buy any other brand.

Worked out great! Specs said it was for a 10" spread and my tub was only 8" so I was a little concerned. However, I tube cut aninch off both horizontal pipes. I traced the hole pattern from the tub on to a scrap piece of wood and drilled the holes out. Dry fitted it all together, soldered it, and slipped it into tub (Was no room to solder under tub). I ended up using 2 Shark Bite fittings- 1/2" to 3/4" thread and a couple of supply lines to the cut-off valves. Pressure tested all. No leaks! Installed trim kit. Plenty of water volume and pressure. As they say, buy it for looks, buy it for life.
