Since designers tend not to think about the serviceability of a product the available test locations to find out why something is not working can be hard to access at times. This gives your probes the extra reach to get to where you need to be. Doesn't make the part any more serviceable but at least you can find out if you need to make your way in there to fix it. Also helps keep your digits away from moving parts or exposed voltages. Always a bonus.

These leads plug into your standard pole plug multimeter leads, giving you a long extension and grip, to keep you away from high voltage power. High frequency and/or high voltages can arc and "climb" up metal posts, to any available conductor, including your hand. You need lead extensions to stay safe, and these from BOCEUC do the job well. The socket that you plug your multi-meter lead into is very firm, and it did not wiggle around when I was using it. The plastic is high quality, and the probe end is trouble free too.
