I fish in Vancouver and the salt would cause all types of problem on this reel. Upon a bit investigation I found Okuima makes the A version which is actually for saltwater such as CW-354DLXA

Price was good and shipping was quick but right out of the box the clicker button did not engage ........... if quality control couldnt catch this malfunction I was not confident with the reel so returned it . Amazon was excellent about the return with a super fast reimbursement.

Nice reel. I have been using a friend's and decided to buy my own. Works well for trolling with a down-rigger. Line counter is more accurate than other reels. Consistent drag. I need another one like this, because the one I ordered, did not arrive. It was entrusted to the USPS in Seattle, Washington. No one knows where it is now. Amazon has a book for sale: "The End of the World Is Just the Beginning: Mapping the Collapse of Globalization." The book says that 2019 was the end of "faster, better, and cheaper." I think that was the last year I could depend on getting reliable two business day delivery. Buy the fishing reel if you are trolling for fish. Buy the book too. I will wait a bit longer for delivery, but customer-centric Amazon, has already offered a refund. Thanks guys.

I use the 203 for trolling deep for lake or bull trout, 203 has great capacity. (300 yds 40lb braid) Bought the 15 series for jigging for the same species. 15 series works great, holds plenty of line. Almost 300 yds 30lb braid. 300 will fit, but spool is pretty full.Click feature is a must for dead dropping herring and settingin rod holder. This reel and the Penn Warfare are the only two line counter reels I ever use. Warfare is a bit bigger framed, Coldwater has a nice feel, counter always seems to work and not stick. Definitely recommend

Having purchased many Okuma products over the years this model (the very smallest) is excellent for planner boards & vertical jigging in the 90ft. range. The fact that they come in left handed versions is outstanding. Being right-handed that is the power arm for lifting - think fly & spin casting - which hand do you reel with?Well built - fit & finish really nice - Okuma's makes it pretty. No flipping the engage lever when leaving free spool - half-turn of the crank engages the reel - great feature!Free spool with clicker 'on' is loud & strong, enabling it as an audible strike indicator for the planner boards without line creep.Again, half a turn of the handle and you're back on the drag.Star drag settings are very precise (click by click / audible increments).Drawbacks - wishing the retrieve was faster, even with the spool fully loaded.Best price found was through WalMart with free shipping.
