I was a little worried after reading some negative reviews but it's actually a really good quality pickaxe. People just don't know how to set the head on a tool designed like this. The seller should consider providing a video (besides the picture they do provide) showing the correct method for seating the head. I slid the head on then held the handle with the head hanging straight down just like it is shown in the illustration. I then LET GO allowing it to drop on the concrete floor. The weight of the head seats itself very well onto the handle. I did this probably 8 times just to be sure. I used it after and it works great and the head remained nice and tight. Also, the handle is so nice and provides a good grip. I would buy another product like this from this vendor without hesitation. Great pickaxe!

When you swing the rotation force is pushing the head against the top and that works mostly but when you move the pick or settle it on not on its head then a tap make is slide down. That is too bad as the handle fiberglass quality is good and with less weight there you have good swing with the 2Kg head inertia. The head itself is some strong metal and both ends works well. But even if you whack it down it does not feel safe and we would add a safety screw through the handle and thus turn this into average to better. If you don’t mind doing that, then for the value it is a good overall product but that idea to make it simple assembly without securing for this type of tools is not well realized.

No matter how hard you hammer the head down the shaft it just bounces back. Impossible to use. Total junk and shouldn’t be on the market.

product arrived in great time. Finding it hard to seat the handle in it. Think it's in solid and it will give and slip when attempting to use. Will figure out how to get it seated solidly. Most likely put screws under the head so it won't fly back down the handle when in use.
