Used in our well watering system to prevent bacteria issues. It also prevent water from smelling like rotten eggs. It helped a lot.

I was told by the water softener repairman this is the solution to keeping him away when you have well water,so I tried the initial procedure of 2 cups dissolved in warm water as the salt gets towards the bottom,then I'll be adding once a month the recommended 1/2 cup,to ward off any further issues do to water mineral build up inside the softener mechanism!
