External Diameter

I own several of this brand, just added a 12" unit. The thing I like most is that there are no plastic parts. Even the battery cover is metal. In all other calipers I had (I'm quite old!) the battery cover broke or fell out and got lost. I checked its accuracy against gauge blocks. It was dead on for all dimensions above 10mm. under 2mm there was an error of +0.02mm (0.0008"), deceasing to zero at 10mm, which is well within spec.This is surprising performace for such a low price.

for how much I spent on these calipers I didn't have high expectations, but they seem to be very solid for the price. checked accuracy with a gauge block and it's good. their design for the fine adjustment wheel seems to have a clutch that helps maintain uniform pressure at zero and while measuring. i've used it for several projects already and no complaints. it comes with a very mitutoyo style case and 2 batteries as well.

I rarely use a vernier over 6" but thought it was time to add one to my collection of higher end tools without spending an exorbitant amount of cash. Having had a poor experience with another vernier purchased and returned, I was a little skeptical this one would be any better at almost the identical price. I was dead wrong. I tested this vernier on gauge blocks and it proved to be exact and repeatable. So far, out of the package, I am very pleased with the vernier and am glad it is part of my inventory.
