Never had or used a jeweler's saw before. Ordered this one based on reviews and price point. Does the job, cuts 5mm thick silver quick and easy.

There’s really nothing fancy about this set, and for the price I wasn’t expecting anything more than being mostly functional. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality. The box it came in was simple sturdy cardboard with the seam stapled rather than glued; the labels on the box and on the pouch of blades are perfectly legible; the saw is clearly made with well controlled quality; cuts in the block are clean and deliberate. I think the only reason this doesn’t cost two or three times what it does is the fact that it’s made in India. seriously good quality all around, with every indication that it was designed by real engineers and made by professionals. I’ve only ever given a couple five star ratings on Amazon, and this is now one of them. Good freaking job dudes!

I've been trying to make myself love this saw but it drives me nuts. Half the time it feels like it can't tighten enough to hold the blade in place - every time I put any amount of pressure, the blade pops out. Silver or copper, thick or thin, I can't get my blade to cut accurately and consistently. Don't waste your money, find another.

I bought this product mostly for the saw. The first saw I got worked fairly well, was a bit hard to tighten the screws but it comes with a lot of blades of various sizes which did the job. However, one of the nuts/screws on this first saw broke in half while I was tightening it one day. I had only had the saw for maybe 2 months at the time. Unfortunately I was unable to repair the screw, so I contacted the seller about it and they shipped me out a whole new set the next day. This second saw seems much better quality, the screws seem sturdier (not hollow like the other one), and easier to tighten. The wood for the table attachement was also treated rather than raw like the first one. I'm not sure why there was a difference between the two products but I am very pleased the seller sent me a replacement and I would recommend the product.

I've been pleasantly surprised with it so far! I'm a woodworker, using it to cut inlays out of wood, metal, recon stone, and pearl. The saw: easy to set up and put tension on the blade. I've had the blade slip out of the screws a handful of times, but not excessively. Works well for most small inlay pieces, though I'm getting another for larger pieces. The V-slot bench: mine is not like the one in the photo (but is like one of the other user photos). It's missing the little square cutout on the side, and the big V actually has a huge circle at its base. It's nice for turning around, but not so nice for supporting small pieces, so I'm not a fan of that shape. There is that little slot one, but it's hard to keep the piece on such a small flat surface while sawing. The clamp makes setup a breeze, but it sits proud of the rest of the surface, so larger pieces aren't sitting flat when you're sawing. I might chisel it out a bit one of these days. The blades: I fully expected these to be cheap pieces of crap that broke every five seconds, but they've held up well. They cut through wood like a breeze, and metal isn't too bad- they were more often dulling before breaking, but I got plenty use out of each one. I like the little pouch, too. I just bought more saw blades, but will keep putting them in the convenient slots.
