I have used it for my 14 ft long boat last summer. It has good power and light weigh. Very recommended!

We use the Seamax with our 12’ aluminum Spratley to fly fish stillwaters. We don’t troll, instead we use the motor to get us around the lakes in search of fish, then anchor and cast. Some waters are relatively large (500 acres or more) and wind can be a real challenge. With 2 of us in the boat, fully outfitted, total weight is close to 800-900 lbs. Motoring directly into 2’ rollers, high wind, and white caps, this motor performed; never did we feel endangered or unable to get back to the dock. Well thought out features: collapsible throttle, locking throttle position, three blade prop, brushless motor, locking transom clamp, 65 lb thrust, battery charge indicator lights, and more - this motor is a huge upgrade over the Minn Kota 55 Enduramax we’ve used for 10 years. The Seamax actually creates a boat wake which the MK never did. The only issue I have is that the MK is quieter. In reality, the slightly louder operation of the SM means little because as we approach an area we want to fish, we slow down considerably. No sense disturbing the water plus it allows our fish finder to work more effectively. Excellent electric motor.

Works great when paired with a lifepo4 battery can troll all day on high settings. Very happy with this motor, 65lb thrust model. The motor tracks very well in crosswinds keeps the boats bow from blowing around in the wind. Not sure if its from the different style propellor or what ,but it tracks way straighter then the40lb minn kota i replaced. Fairly quiet and when you jam on the throttle the boats bow just shoots up. Seems to put out a lot of thrust. Very happy so far

It’s a decent little motor: pushes my 21- foot daysailer at over 3 knots for about half an hour on full power. Anything less than full power in a headwind won’t get you far. After two seasons the lower unit is rusting badly and I don’t expect it to last more than another season. Pity.
