I am impressed with the overall quality of the saw handle, however the brittleness of the blades seems to call into question of durability. Being an avid snowshoer and trail maker I have used this saw a fair amount on clearing wood less then 6 inches in diameter. Anything bigger I just pull out the chainsaw. In my experience over a span of 2 years I have snapped two blades during cutting. I have also noted broken teeth on the blade itself. The wood can be frozen at times but it is mostly spruce, pine and alder that is being cut. The other big disappointment is finding a replacement blade that is not almost the cost of replacing it with a new unit.

I really like this handsaw unfortunately this is the 2nd replacement blade I am buying. I believe it was done too much hardening for this thin blade. At the smallest bent it will snap from the base. I will research a way of tempering /reducing the hardening at the base.Plus side: It cuts very well, no other blades I tried will cut as well as this blade .Hope this helps

So geschafft, auch das zweite Ersatzsägeblatt ist durch. 2x an der gleichen Stelle gebrochen.. Für feine Arbeiten eine schöne Säge, daheim im Hobby Keller. jedoch für Outdoor Abendteuer ist diese Säge zu unzuverlässig und definitiv zu teuer.

If you are buying a replacement blade, then you probably already know how amazing Silky blades are. If you somehow don't know, this blade is amazingly sharp and makes short work of trimming limbs. I actually carry my saw with me (remember that you are only looking at a replacement blade right now) on my mountain bike to use for clearing fallen trees. I have used it to cut 6-8 inch diameter tree trunks.

Fantastic bit of kit - bought as replacement for broken blade that I got a bit too ambitious with, but something of this quality does that to you !!!

Biggest problem with Silky products is you have to be careful not to cut yourself! Razor sharp edges that last n last :)
