The magnet must be within a couple of inches of a screw or nail before picking it up. If I was doing it again I would get something with a stronger magnet. The mechanism to release the metal picked up works well.

Received with plastic coverjng the magnet broken, magnet seems strong but cannot left heavey objects as mentioned. Returned and waiting for refund

outil très pratique, ça ramasse tout les petits morceaux de métal qui trainent par terre, quand tu tires sur la poignée, tous les morceaux retombent. Fonctionne bien.

Seems a little light and feel the magnet could be stronger. Quality is alright. My use will be just picking up nails and screws from the fire pit and it should be fine.

Idea was great. The head is quite bulky since the battery and the lights are in there. The head snapped off after a few uses and it makes a great pointer now. Just get a flexible magnet and use a flashlight.

nice strong magnet, overall about 30 inches, tip about 5/8"if you need something to get in a tight space, keep shopping, the 5/8" tip is pretty large.

Sometimes not having a swivel head pick up tool is needed and this one is pretty strong. As I get older, crawling under the car to retrieve a screw is less appealing so I always have this tool stuck to the inside of my hood when I'm working on the car.

I'm not sure how to review this Magnetic pick-up tool without sounding like a "Sore Loser" .I should know by now, that the old saying,"YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR", applies here.The magnet is nor Powerful by any means.If you extended this to 27", and then attempted to pick up something weighing 8lbs.,I am sure the telescoping thing would snap.You'd be much better off buying a loose strong rare earth magnet and tye a string too it.The little led light is activated by partially screwing clockwise the magnet piece, but be cautious when turning light off by un-screwing...it feels like it will fall off.So there's my review, it's sort of cute, and it will look sort of official in your pocket protector.For 8 bucks and change it's not worth any effort to get a refund.
