Okay, so you DO have to take the bases off, but it's only one screw - re-use the original antenna bases and washers and this thing pops right in.They're slightly longer than the antennas mine were fitted with, but since one was bent and the other broken it was time for them to go!The new antennas are 20cm long without the base and actually fit a bit nicer IMO.

Purchased radio on auction site but it unfortunately it did not come with an antenna. Searching Amazon I came upon this item. Connected perfectly and even have a spare. Very pleased!
