Firstly, you will have to re secure the mounting screws in the handle, and that’s ok for how inexpensive the thing is, I like the wood handles it comes with, but may stain them. The sharpness and thickness of the blade seem to be decent, and wouldn’t see any concerns of it being anything that would chip easy or break suddenly upon first use. If I were anyone else, I’d sharpen the blade after 1 use because it isn’t dull, but it’s not that sharp either. Depending on your application of this product, I would say the sheath and blade quality are worth picking if you just want something to carry in the woods on paths to clear brush every once in a while, or hacking tree limbs on your property. I wouldn’t say this is high quality, but for the money, I can’t complain so far. Not bad

Bough this thing to chop through the shrubs in the corner of my yard and it did ok for a little bit. Even after sharpening it, I still had to put in extra work to chop things up with it. It'll do the job, but bring your muscle for it.

De bonne qualitée en acier inoxydable. Garde bien son tranchant. La poignée en bois demande un bon sablage car elle est inconfortable neuve. Bonne machette.

Handle is terrible; hotspot hurts like hell. You need a thick glove.

Overall a really solid blade, made of really good but not great steel. Arrived razor sharp. Two issues I had was handle blanks were loose but was an easy fix. The other was the loop for a lanyard is very comfortable for a person with a large hand while swing it. But overall happy with this and would recommend.

Got it nice and sharp and accidentally dropped it on my bed and gashed my mattress, had a machette fight with my mother and it held up alot better than hers, update jan 2025 finally broke it, sustainably abused the thing at work clearing trail. Also used for stripping logs and limbing, can slice some pretty big branches with the right force.

After reading some of the reviews on this item, I saw that the main issue is the handle screws coming out.I removed all of the screws in the handle and then put lock tite on them and reassembled. I also wrapped the handle with some mastic tape (rubber tape) and now I have a heavy duty , first class machete. It has a very good, heavy duty blade with a full tang .Well worth the money .

Disclaimer: This machete was purchased as a gift so I have no personal experience using this item. With that said! My friend used this on a hiking trip in north Carolina and said it worked well clearing a trail that was overgrown with no issues.I did inspect this item to ensure it was fit for gifting and this is my opinion on fit and finish. First off this is a hollow grind blade which is very thin behind the edge so heavy chopping would probably cause rollover or chipping on harder/denser woods. however the steel seems to be a decent quality stainless which is good if it will be hanging in the shedfor long periods of time. The other issue was the wooden scales on the the full tang were loose but it was easy enough to tighten the fasteners, the addition of epoxy would be a more permanent solution. The scales are basically flat slabs without much in the way of ergonomics but are large enough to accomodate some customization, optionally it would be very easy to make new ones more suited to your preference. Summing up: for the price this is a functional tool and could be easily modified to your liking if so inclined. i'd have to say it's a good deal for a utility blade.
