Mounted incredibly easy with no special hardware. Easy to use. Holds two snowboards and three pairs of skis. The latch feels plastic which worries me a bit but it has worked fine. The unit came with RackAttack.com stenciled on the sides which I don't like but since they shipped it in just a couple days when Amazon said a couple weeks, I actually mounted it with the name showing.

I bought this a couple of months ago and have been very pleased with it. Easy to install, very little wind noise, easy to open and close, easy to lock/unlock, etc. I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews, specifically about how tough it is for shorter people (I clock in at a mighty 5'7") to slide out the rack while standing on the ground. I had no issues sliding it out or back in, with our without skis on the rack (I had on three pairs of skis and one snowboard). I was glad I read a couple of tips from other reviewers: (1) install such that you open on passenger side, so you can load/unload onto walkway/side rather than street and (2) install such that locks are in the same direction (sounds simple, but easy to overlook). Overall, am very comfortable recommending this product.

This is older model and it was easy to put on the cross bar on my SUV. I like the slide function so that it is easier to retrieve the ski and snowboard. I have only driven around the local area and will really try it out end of month when I visit the ski slopes.

Amazing service from Rack Attack!! Received my rack a little over 48 hours after placing my order..my payment wasn't even processed yet!The rack is very simple to install onto my Honda factory crossbars, took under 5 minutes and the slide out function makes it so simple to place my gear on top of my SUV.

Have used this for about a month now. We'll designed, easy to install or remove from vehicle cross bars. The slide out is handy for loading or unloading skis. The only downside is a function of most vehicles now having a fixed location for the crossbars on which to mount the carrier. As a result loaded skis can bump into the open trunk lid of an SUV which has a large half calm shell style trunk.

This rack works perfect with the cargo racks on my Audi SQ5. It looks like it was made for my car. Very easy to install and it took all boards and skis for the 4 of us.So I have to update my review. I did buy this rack back in 2016. Probably used 10 -12 times total. This last trip, I was putting the rack on my Audi and one of the four wing nuts that is used to tighten the straps on to my crossbars is now stripped and will no longer tighten. I have filled out the Thule warranty form and spoken to their customer service. It’s been about a week and no one has gotten back to me. I’m not happy with their customer service at the moment. But I want to give them a chance to make it right. I will keep you posted. So Kathy at Thule customer service did a great job making this right. To my understanding, the tacks I had previously are now discontinued and I couldn’t get a simple screw replaced. However, Thule just sent a brand new set of the replacement racks at no cost to me. Thank you Thule!!!

It arrived on-time but used & broken! At the first glance, I saw some signs of light wear and tear on the rack. I convinced myself that it is not a big deal that if someone has used the racks before and decided to install it on my vehicle (I had no time to return since my trip was very close). But after installing the rack, I realized that it is actually broken!! There is a small piece of plastic inside the lower bar that regulates the top slide & closing function which was broken! It is a hollow cylinder shaped part about 1/4 inch tall and a penny at the cross section inside the lower bar near the lock which was broken, so when the folding top was sliding back to its position, it was not regulating the latch to back to the closing position so unable to close the top bar.I imagine, even if the part was not broken, there was a high chance that the small piece of plastic breaks after a couple of normal use, especially in cold weather. I am surprised how Thule engineering made this product all dependent on a small piece of plastic and why such important part is not made of alloy?!I will definitely return the rack and will look for other product/brand somewhere else. Also, I will never buy such products online, specially from Amazon. It is the second time that Amazon delivers broken stuff. Perhaps I'll continue buying only books though!

All 4 of my boys and I are into boarding and we definitely needed a better way to transport our gear besides piling them into the back of the Suburban. This rack installed easy and securely to the existing/factory rack cross members.Sliding the racks to the side (I went passenger side) can make for easier installation, but be mindful that board bindings will likely not clear the side rail. We usually popped someone on the roof and did it that way. Rack is designed for 4 boards stacked 2x2, but was wide enough to hold all 5 of our boards (stacked 2x3). Thing 4 is a jr so his board is a little on the smaller side, so your mileage may vary.Multiple rack latching points is nice and the releases (and locks) worked well in the snow/ice/grime.Now I just need to remember to take them down since Spring is finally here. ;)

Have only used it once so far, but very happy with it.The good:- Installed very quickly onto the factory rack on our Sienna. Nothing complicated to figured out, went from opening the package to having it installed in minutes.- Held a full load. 4 pairs of skis and a snowboard.- Can lock it to prevent it from being opened to remove the skis, and to prevent it from being easily removed from the rack. Don't lose the key or you'll be very unhappy when you get to the slopes!- When on and loaded, everything was very solid and secure. The less good (but still satisfactory), pretty much all around the sliding feature:- I'm only about 5' 6", and it is difficult to get the leverage to slide the rack in and out. You need to be able to push or pull both racks at once with a fair amount of relatively equal pressure, which is difficult on the top of the van. Perhaps easier if you are a bit taller, but I wished it slid a bit more freely.- To latch the racks down onto the skis / boards they must first be fully retracted. So when they are loaded up and extended you need to push them back in uniformly or the skis move around. Would be easier to do if it slid a bit more easily.- Because the snowboard goes in upside-down, it's bindings don't clear the siderails on the Sienna's factory rack. So the Thule won't slide out any farther than the first snowboard in the rack. With just a single snowboard you can just flip it bindings-up. If you need to put a couple in back-to-back, be sure you put them in first so you can slide the rack as far as possible.Note I still would buy the rack with the sliding feature. It's just not as good as it could be.Also, a couple notes on installing. Totally obvious in retrospect, but not in the installation instructions so of course I did it backwards the first time:- Orient the clamps that attach to your roof rack such that the lock faces the outside of the car. Much easier to lock it that way!- Orient the rack so that it slides out over the passenger side. That way you can load and unload from the curb side at the slopes, rather than standing in traffic.
