This worked well for a few weeks, then it began cutting in and out intermittently, multiple times an hour. Turning the display off and back on helped for a short while, then the issue would begin again. Others have reported this same issue, and I recommend that you spend your money elsewhere. The return process was also atrocious: Amazon could not provide a working QR code for a return via Canada Post, nor would they simply provide a mailing label. They forced me to choose another less convenient return method. I'll be shopping local from now on.

I recently purchased the WAVLINK USB 3.0 to HDMI Video Graphic Adapter for my third monitor, and initially, I was skeptical about its performance. However, I'm pleased to say that this product exceeded my expectations. The picture quality it delivers is comparable to that of my HDMI-connected monitor. If you're considering adding an extra monitor to your setup, I highly recommend giving this adapter a try.

Working well for my setup, I have a laptob hooked up to primary monitor through hdmi. This device helps me plug my laptop into a 2nd monitor through usb.My only advice is to put this somewhere were it won't get touched. I find it cuts out a bit if you were to touch it accidentally. It sits on the opposite side of my desk to where the mouse is and works just fine.

I have to say, I was very surprised.Windows 10 installed drivers right away, and I installed the drivers updated from their website as well.DISCLAIMER - you may not get the results I did as it may be a quirk of my Hardware.Using this unit, with the DVI to VGA adapter on the unit, hooked onto a Dell P2011HT 20 inch monitor, which defaults to 1600 x 900 max resolution normally......This unit defaulted to 1920 x 1080 resolution, in it was cleanly visible on the monitor ! ( I have subsequently discovered its a quirk of this model monitor, its easily overdriven due to its chipset and the chip in this adapter ID's it as native 1080p resolution and adjusts its own frequency to be able to display right )Note this is running a 4th monitor on my system, all the others are BENQ 24 inch gaming monitor's.The other surprising thing, contrary to the manuals statements, the system does retain icons and windows placements on this screen thru this unit on power down / reboot. All in all, super thumbs up ! Highly recommended !

I have 2 monitors and a MacBook Air, I couldn’t extend displays “separately” to both my monitors and found that macs can only extend to 1 monitor and if you have a second, the best you can do is mirror. I use straight hdmi to my mac dongle for 1 monitor and then this usb for the 2nd and it worked perfect. A lot of comments talked about how it “should” work but they don’t have mac. I’m here to say it WILL work for mac. Very impressed with this device if not looking to spend a lot of $$$ on a docking station. If you need to extend screen and not mirror, this will work good.

I have an acer swift-314-54-57jc with Ubuntu 20.04 installed. I assumed its USB type-c port has DP support. But unfortunately it is only for data transfer. After I plugged the HDMI cable of monitor to the USB-to-HDMI adapter, it had no input at all. I searched something and found this one which is similar to DisplayLink products but has reasonable price.I doubted it would work on Linux until I searched Wavlink website (Product->USB Display) and found the Drivers list has Linux support (DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Ubuntu5.4.1-EXE.zip). I changed grub to allow Ubuntu to boot into text mode, and installed evdi-dkms and gcc packages before installing its driver. After installation is done, I recovered the grub config to boot into graphic mode. And I can see the second monitor showing the extended desktop. It's a perfect solution to the PC that needs two external monitors but has only one HDMI port and no USB type-c with DP support.

Straightforward set up. third monitor came up fine. Love the extra screen and increased productivity. Only reason I ma not giving a 5 star review is that occasionally when waking up my system the Wavlink does not wake up. An email to Wavlink support was never returned. My workaround is simply to unplug the adapter from the computer USB and then plug it back in and it works again.

After 10 days of try various cable, docking port and other set ups this adapter has done what I wanted. Now running a Dell Latitude E6430 with built-in display as main screen with 2x Acer K242HL monitors, giving me a 3 screen extended desktop.Easy to set-up. Simply install the drive from CD provided, plug in adapter and monitor and you're good to go.I use USB3.0 connection and not checking backwards compatibility with USB2.0. Also updated my graphics drivers.10 minutes and I was up and running. And at £32 it's a bargain.I haven't tested screen rotation and audio output features, I don't need it.
