It gives a good flame just a little hard when you have to turn starter with one hand and push starter with other hand, especially if you have big mitts. Otherwise does a great job.

I purchased this torch to use in flood soldering 10AWG stranded in non-insulated terminals. The resulting solder joints were very satisfactory.I found that all of the controls were easy to use, with the exception of having to turn the knob in order to press it to light the torch. Since this is a safety feature then I realize that it is necessary, it just makes one hand operation impossible.

I bought this item in September of 2009 so it's lasted about 6-years in LIGHT use.PROS- long burn time on a fill- somewhat adjustable flameCONS- difficult to ignite- igniter eventually breaksThere's a safety lock on the side that needs to be held "up" while the rear igniter dial is BOTH TURNED AND PRESSED. Seriously? Weller? This goes beyond safety and crosses over into "adult proof".Moot point for me now: the igniter no longer works. I'll look for better reviewed torches and buy one as a lifetime investment.

Hard to ignite, cheap feeling and some plastic piece on the inside of the button BROKE within about 100 presses of the difficult to use ignition button.

Most of the time with torches you get what you pay for. This torch, however, isn't even worth the cheap plastic packaging it came in. Whoever designed and engineered the ignition was in a very dark place in their life indeed. The black nob on the back needs to be rotated about 60 degrees or so and then mashed down awkwardly. The knob is spring loaded so one hand needs to hold the torch while the other torques the knob then presses it down. It is the most useless design I've ever seen.On top of that, the one I got out of the packaging DOESN'T EVEN IGNITE. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating. I was able to produce a very brief flicker of a flame, about 1 centimeter in length, two times. Other than that though I've just been cursing at this junk. The gas flow out of is may be clogged or something, I cannot see in past the cheap gas nozzle. Even though I didn't actually run a flame on it, the stainless steel barrel that houses the nozzle and gas line over heated and nearly singed my finger print off. I mean, c'mon...really? The plastic that was used on this is VERY cheap. Probably something you don't want anywhere near any sort of heat, or even sitting outside on a sunny day. Please save yourself a head ache and spend 10-20 dollars more for something legitimate.

This is for the Weller ML200 Magna-Lite Butane Table-Top Torch.I happened to like this torch very much. I am a rookie at melting metals and I found this particular one to be very nice. I have read many reviews about this torch and I had to experience myself. This is doing the job for the small projects that I am doing. This one did not come with the small window but I can gauge when the tank is almost empty (torch slowly losing its fire). I would recommend this item to those who want a handle on things rather than having a bulky torch that is most often available at most local hardware stores.
