The first thing to know: the assembly shown in the listing is wrong. If you use it the way it comes assembled, it’s not going to work. It’s pictured with the plate on the tube end inside out. The smaller diameter of the plate goes towards the shaft and centers the assembly in tube for a centered pull on the seal. The seal plate comes assembled wrong also, the tapered side of it goes into the seal, not facing away. Now if you use it correctly, prelube the seal, and start it in the tube square it will press the seal in perfectly with one try. It saved me so much time and headache installing a new seal. Spendy , but my time is valuable and it saves time.
