Great setup. Guides are small and do freeze up easy if not in a tent. You see every single nibble. Outfish regular rods for sure.

So out west, we don’t really have much pan fish ice fishing, but I wanted to try this rod/reel combo. I’m not sure it’s the best for heavy fighting trout or lakers. But it was awesome to use for perch. It’s so sensitive visually to see the tip bending when you can’t even begin to feel it! It has gotten me back to the bottom so much faster than any spinning reel can. I’m amazed. But don’t buy this for trout of any size. I hooked one that was over 5lbs and it was just a race to the end of my line.. anyway I love this thing and I’m buying more!!

Bought for my man, so I'm giving a review based on his experience.I ended up buy one (but mine isn't green)Love the color, and it almost acts as blacklight at night in blue LEDs... So perfect for night fishing and watching for a bite. The green really light up, no need for glow light tips.Sensitive. Perfect for salmon fishing that hardly bite.Love the reel, doesn't take long to use if your used to flip bale.Negative. When you drop the lure too fast the reel spools out, really need to be careful because it lets out fast and reels up fast (and super smooth!). Same with hitting the bottom, the reel will keep spooling out.Love the closed reel challenging the open reel.Love the extra handle, fits great on a 5 gallon bucket. (My pole, unfortunately it doesn't have the extended pole)My man hasn't had this issue but I lost a few fish because I went to grab the rod while noticing a bite and accidentally hit the bail release, it's located right under the handle.Love my pole but I'll have to remember not to grab that level on setting the hook.Negative. Which isn't a negative per day but it doesn't have a place to tie a loop for tipups (jaw jacker) but you could run something thin through the last eyelet (which may get in the way of the line).Otherwise I think it performs better that the stiffer poles, my man said it might be 'too' flexible for the jack jacker. We use the older poles in the tipups.Supper fun to catch big fish!Have to fine tune the tightness, harder to set while reeling in a fish like the older flip bail poles but once it's set it's great

I enjoy how this rod performs. It is very sensitive, so you can easily detect the lightest bites and the way the rod bends is effective at keeping fish on.My gripe is that the tip is prone to breaking off. Saw a guy on youtube have this problem with his. Thought it might be isolated. However, a couple months later, the tip broke on mine. Fixed it with super glue, lots of sewing thread, and UV fly tying resin overtop. It has held up for a month so far. I think for the price of this setup, the tip needs to be built more sturdy.

This rod and reel combo is the best I have for pan fish. The tip is very sensitive so it’s easy to detect those light bites. Plus it’s got enough back bone to bring in bigger fish. The only downside is the reel needs to be adjusted to the fall of your bait/lure or it will birds nest on you. With a little patience and tweaking it is easy to figure out. I definitely recommend this rod and reel combo.

I ice fish at least twice a week. I love this rod and reel. For panfish this beats a spinning reel in every way. The line guard on the reel is great, I have yet to get a birds nest. Completely eliminated line twist. Also the drag isnt as bad as people say. Yes, its silent, but works well enough. I've had to use it on a few 14 + inch bass on 2 lb test line and it was fine. My only advice is not to set this rod down on the ice. Like any reel, if it gets wet it will freeze up and be a pain. I'll honestly probably buy another just so I can have a different jig on it, or so my wife can use it.
