I was first very excited to get this tool for such a great price. However my excitment quickly disappeared upon my first use… The inner tie rod can’t simply fit inside the long tube, preventing a full and square engagement of the crowfoot. I was trying to remove a 2008 Taurus-X inner tie rod when the lip of the tool simply broke off. The metal used to build this tool is really brittle, not quality steel. I noticed that all the crowfoots are not perfectly aligned with the tube and they are preventing the passage of the inner tie rod inside the tool. Its really a sign of POOR ENGINEERING AND NO QUALITY CONTROL.I was on my own when the tool broke and i had to buy in a LISLE 45750 in a rush to finish the job. The quality was NIGHT AND DAY COMPARED WITH 8milelake…. It worked flawlessly and it was a real pleasure to use the LISLE Tool! (I am almost forgetting that i am writing a review about the 8milelake inner tie rod tool…)In resume; your time is probably more valuable then the 20$ You think you might save buying 8milelake inner tie rod tool. There is no economy if this tool cant accomplish the task it was designed for.I hope i get smarter next time i read bad reviews of products here and avoid buying them in the first place. A bad review is a warning from someone who took the time to prevent others the same frustration he went through with a bad product. Thats all it is.At least return was easy as usual with Amazon.

some of adaptors were not a good fit and had to be file to size which was no big deal.other than that tool worked great to do a job that I dont no how you could do it with out it. plus price was right.

Solidly built, worked like a charm. Took minutes for removal and install. The sleeve to lock the crow's foot in place is a bit annoying because it's slippery to work with when your hands are full of oil/lube, but once you get that in place it works great.

The kit did not have the exact size for my Ford Focus inner tie rod but a larger one still worked (although you may need to be careful not to strip the end). I guess I assumed a kit of this size would have the exact size but maybe my car is unique. The inner pipe of the tool was not large enough to get the crows foot to lock in place around the tie rod but I got it to work by holding it in place with my hand. Overall, it was not flawless but it worked.
