Camco's 4500W 240V screw-in type high watt density water heater elements can be used in all screw-in replacement situations if the same wattage and voltage are used. High Watt Density water heater elements are the most common and the same type of element provided with most new water heaters. They are easy to install and come with detailed instructions on how to replace your old element. Screw-in type elements fit most models of American, AO Smith, Bradford White, Craftmaster (prior to 1991), GE, GS Wood (certain models), Kenmore, Lochinvar, Maytag, Mor-Flo, Reliance, Rheem, Richmond, Rudd, Sears, State, Whirlpool and most water heaters manufactured after 1994. The replacement element must be the same voltage and wattage as the element being replaced. Never exceed the nameplate rating on the water heater.

My PID controller says this element is running at 17.3 amps at 240 volts. Meaning this element is actually 4152 watts. My old Rheem 4500W that served me faithfully for 4years was reading 19.3 amps equalling 4632W. should have stuck with the Rheem instead of saving a couple of dollars with this Camco. Won't buy again.

Got it in 2 days for normal shipping. Price is cheaper and I ordered 2 of them. Replace the top one without draining out water and leave the bottom element. Turn on the power, still not work. The old one, fold-back, (also from Camco that I installed last August) has NO sign for burn-out. Still puzzled, then look around and see the RED switch and reset it. Then I can hear water is heated up. Now have a hot water. I keep the old one because it is still good. I guess the lightnings (every day for 2 weeks now) trip the switch.

The elements look like a good build, installed easily into the 40 imp gal Bradford White lowboy tank. Price was good too.

I keep 2 of these on hand at all times in our place n the adirondack mountains... the well water is iron-heavy and eats our electric water heater elements via corrosion ... these camco elements do their job and last just as long as much more expensive elements we've bought in the past... at a fraction of the price.

We got home after being away for 3 months, only to discover we had no hot water. Our sons messed around with the water heater and discovered that one of our heating elements had gone bad. After some research, we knew what size we needed, so I ordered this from Amazon, had it within 2 days, and after watching a video on utube, one of my sons figured out how to change it, no problem. It's been in for over 3 months now and is working great. Thank God for grown sons!!
