There are arguments as to whether bear bells are really effective or not. We tend not to take deep wilderness hikes, so having the bear bells makes me more comfortable. Plus, they help me keep track of my husband (LOL.) Having the magnetic strap to muffle the bells is a plus, especially when walking through stores and airports.

I bought this set for myself, my husband and my dog to bring on a big hiking trip at a national park. It really put us both at ease knowing we have the bells on us since we had our dog with us. The silencers made it less embarrassing when we were around people (less jingling) and also came in handy as we walked by a sleeping moose on the trail and needed to stay quiet.

Velco straps are black. Bell is DARK blue. not a husky eye matching item :/Everyone loves the bell on the dog harness. People know hes friendly and I can keep track of his monkey business out in the woods.Downside is the velco fails eventually, and if you got a very active dog, you will be losing the bells.I have yet to stitch one onto the harness, so i'll try that next.Good item, durable, his old bells, were scratched to the metal.They've been from the ocean to mountain tops, and no problems.Magnetic silencer works well, but not when the dog is active.

It does the job but the magnet slip a lot so it will start ringing even when you don't want it to. Easy to carry on a pack loop and velcro is strong.
