I'm using 3 of these in a distillation still which runs 10+ hours at a time and I can expect to burn at least 1 out every ~80hrs of operation.What I do like about them is the tri-clamp adapter is built in. I have used several tri-clamp to 1" element in the past and even with anti-seize compound they seem to always get corroded together, and with the tiny clearance between the nut and the adapter getting them a part can be impossible. (The adapter alone is in this case was 65$)

I use this on 100V, to reduce the heat/area, and avoid scorching my mash. It fit nicely through the 1.5" TC opening on my pot, which is actually about 1.2" id.Apparently, they now come (mine did) with the stainless cover for the contacts, as well as a cord clamp.Works very well for me.

Love this element for my homebrew keggle! Does not have an endcap to cover the wires but i made one with some pvc fittings and epoxy. Works like a champ! Rolling boil without the propane jet engine noise.
