Amazon.ca Product Description

A macro extension tube is a wonderful substitution to expensive macro lenses. It maintains the original optical quality while transforming the lens into a macro lens. It is far more desired then the add-on close-up lenses, which will alter the optical quality. The extension tube will work with all Nikon / Nikkor F-Mount cameras and lenses.
The camera mount coupling adapter and lens mount coupling adapter can be used independently of the extension tubes or you can add in the tubes for extreme Macro photography. Because no other optical components are added with this kit, the image preserves the original optical properties of the lens. This is an affordable and simple way to turn your existing lens into a MACRO LENS. This tube set includes a lens-coupling ring and a body-coupling ring; three extension tubes of various sizes are also included to build up to the desired magnification. Life size image can be achieved with this set up. See details specification at the table below. Specs are based on a 50mm f1.4 lens.
Compatible Cameras
(including, but not limited to)
Nikon D7100, D7000, D5300, D5200, D5100, D5000, D3300, D3200, D3100, D3000, D800, D800E, D700, D610, D600, D300, D300S, D200, D100, D50, D60, D70, D80, D90, D40, D40x, N70s, D4, D4S, D3, D3S, D3X, D2, D2H, D2Hs, D2X, D2Xs, D1, D1H, D1X, DF
The extension ring set has no electrical contact, so you will have to set your camera in manual focusing and manual exposure, or aperture priority mode for metering.

I aquired some older Olympus Lenses and wasnt sure if I would be able to use them with my newer Nikon D7200 and with this I am able to use them and they work great! Couldnt be more happier.

This product does exactly what it is expected to do. It allows me to use my Minolta MD 50mm f3.5 Macro Lens with my Nikon D4 lens mount.Made in China. Nice packaging. The front and back caps are great for storage of this adapter.Ignore the reviews that complain their auto focus does not work with this adapter. That is not what it is expected to do. It literally allows you to use a Minolta lens on a Nikon camera body. The non-CPU lens data function on your Nikon will be useless with this product as you are not mounting a Nikkor manual lens to your Nikon but a metal adapter. The turning of the aperture ring therefore is not recognized by the camera as a result. This is not a big deal.I have tested it with and without the extension tube I have for that macro lens and so far it works great.

It did mount the Contax Zeiss Planar t* lenses to my D810 and D700 but the results were disappointing. The results were exceptionally soft from the corners to almost the center with the lens fully opened. It took stepping the lens down to f8 to start to see something that you could get away with on 4x6 print. But even fully stepped down there is some softness in the corners zoomed in.From my research and asking around, this will never give you good results on an f-mount. If you have these kinds of lenses and you want to use them then your only path to sharpness is a Z camera.I did find one of these mounts ages ago with the optics damaged. Removing them let you use the lenses and end up with glass that was great for macro work and gave some interesting results, see the flower photo. So worthless product for the planar t* unless you want to remove the optics and have an interesting art lens to work with.YMMV.

Works as advertised. Very happy with it. Please note! It has an intermediate lens that has a thickness which could allow glass to glass collisions with some lenses! So be very careful. Long lenses are no problem. Less than about 40mm May collide and damage optics. I have three Yashica/Zeiss lenses that work perfectly with it. It is not razor sharp, but is still clearer than using a lense on its own and enlarging in post. Which is just as likely to be the fault of the lenses and not this product. You are afterall pushing the limits of your own optics. The machining, fit and finish is flawless. I was very impressed with how well it worked with my nearly 40 year old lenses. And pretty cool to use them again with a modern DSLR.

Solid build. Metal reverse ring fits snugly onto the camera's body. The additional lens aperture control with the complimentary U.V filter adds convenience and lens protection. I haven't noticed any degradation of images with the filter attached. As a result, it will remain on. It quite frankly, looks elegant. Overall, I think it's well worth the money and is a fun acquisition. It will provide additional functionality to your already existing arsenal of supported lenses for a fraction of the cost of a full fledged macro lens.

Worth every penny. Only problem is synchronising the locks to make the aperture ring work. They should have a manual inside on the steps to be followed.

Consigliato.

I'm a Nikon shooter with a number of old Canon FD lenses laying around.I put off buying one of these for years due to other reviews warning me about the potential for lost quality due to the extra piece of glass being added to the mix.But after using this adapter, my fears were quickly put to rest. Images are crisp and sharp. The aperture ring is a nice touch, and works very well.Be careful when you attach this to your lens. old lenses often have bent pins, and if the aperture pin connects incorrectly, it can sort of jam things up (this happened to my 3rd party brand 135mm f2.8 lens)

These tubes are "dumb" in that they have no electrical contacts - so adjustment of aperture on an attached lens from the camera's menu is not possible, and neither is autofocus. But tubes with electrical contacts can cost ten times more, so they're not really competition for this product. What these tubes allow is for Nikon lenses to be mounted farther away from the camera's focal plane (sensor), increasing magnification. Modern "G" lenses without aperture rings will default to their widest aperture, which isn't ideal for most macro photography but might be ok for document or photographic negative reproduction. Where these become really useful is with an older lens where aperture can be manually stopped down for greater depth of field. The rings have a number of sizes that screw together in various combinations, allowing for lesser or greater magnification. The "bottom" ring has the camera mount, and the "top" the lens mount, so using these together is the minimum size configuration.Overall, I found these well enough made - a bit tight to fit on and off the camera, and the threads would benefit from a tad of lubricant, but otherwise fine and with no manufacturing tolerance issues. Mated to an AF-Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D lens, they produced perfectly acceptable macro photographs. Even more power, at tiny cost, can be obtained by combining these with a separately available reversing ring. All in all, as a cheap way to enter the world of macro photography, these are a good start - cheap, functional, and not requiring reverse mounting with the resulting exposure of the rear element of the lens to the environment. Just make sure you have a lens that you can adjust the aperture on manually in order to take the greatest advantage of these.

La qualité des images n'est pas trop à la hauteur par rapport à une bonnette par exemple, cependant, c'est un kit pratique. L'objectif est bien monté et la possibilité de mettre un filtre au bout est indispensable.
