This gimble was advertised as new and OEM DJI. It appeared to be used and possibly installed before. The gimble circuit board smelled burnt and I located a burnt section of the board. It did not work at all. I would not recommend this product at all.

This Gimbal Camera Assembly is a straight swap. I was able to repair my drone after a minor crash with this item. I also purchased the cable to repair my old camera, so no down time occurred. Great product.

I haven't had good luck with cheap gimbal/camera replacements but these are in DJI packaging and I haven't had any problems. The connectors on these things might be the smallest known to man these days and if everything's not perfect nothing works. With a good replacement, including the vibe board and everything that screws to the chassis, a Mavic Pro camera is a relatively easy replacement. It only needs a little metric hex wrench, a tiny phillips screwdriver, maybe some tweezers, a magnifier to cinch the connectors, and a pry tool to do the job...

I've had my Mavic Pro Platinum for 2 years and I've loved flying it. Last week I was flying in sport mode and got fixated on the screen, then looked up to find the drone, which can be hard to do when it is going 35 mph at 30 feet and between me and the sun. I finally was able to find it but by that time it was headed straight for a tree and being in sport mode, obstacle avoidance was disabled. It slammed into the canopy of the tree and tumbled to the ground hitting with a sickening thud. Somehow the battery and ejected from the drone. I put the battery back in and it flew but the gimbal was giving me errors. I tried to calibrate the gimbal and suddenly there was a horrible grinding noise when the cooling fan kicked in. I had not only broken the gimbal but I had also damaged the fan.I tried to find the parts on the DJI website with no luck. Then I searched Amazon and found this gimbal. It arrived along with the fan from another vendor the next day. It was in original DJI packaging and the gimbal was encased in a giant block of foam. Very well protected. After a few YouTube videos I dove in and started taking the drone apart. It was scary at first because I was afraid to break things but it is a pretty hardy bird. It's well built and with the right tools it came apart pretty easily. I was able to replace both the gimbal and the fan I under an hour. When I turned it back on I had to recalibrate the compass, the IMU and the gimbal but it only took me about 5 minutes and I was back up and flying. The part was perfect and as advertised. It sure beat shelling out $1200 for another drone.

I crashed my Mavic Pro about 20 meters high against a tree and it took a very rough fall (honestly, I don't know how it survived). It would still fly after the crash but the gimbal was completely broken. The camera would just endlessly move around in unpredictable ways similar to how it moves when you turn the drone on, the controller wheel to tilt the camera wasn't responding and the DJI Go 4 app was showing error messages related to the gimbal (I don't remember the exact wording but something to the effect of "failed to stabilize gimbal" or "make sure the gimbal clamp is removed").I ordered this replacement and installed it following a couple of YouTube instructional videos and the new camera is working perfectly! (Search for "DJI Mavic how to replace the gimbal ribbon" on YouTube for very detailed instructions.) Make sure to go to the Camera Settings and select "Calibrate Gimbal" after you install it.The toolset I used was (it has the two screwdrivers that you'll need, which are Hex 1.5mm and Philips PH0).
