The Godox SK400II 2-Piece 800Ws Studio Strobe Flash Monolight Kit is a comprehensive solution for studio photography, making it particularly suitable for applications such as portraits, headshots, interior architecture, tabletop photography, and more. Godox is renowned for producing high-quality lighting solutions for professionals. This kit comprises two 400Ws strobes equipped with integrated Godox wireless receivers, two robust light stands that outperform typical standard kit stands, and two reflectors that include various colored diffusion socks. Furthermore, it features two 3' x 2' Godox softboxes, a round 5-in-1 reflector diffuser, a wireless transmitter, and a carry bag. Each element of this kit exhibits the same solid construction characteristic of other Godox equipment I have experienced. The softboxes demonstrate exceptional performance, while the quality and spacious design of the carry bag are commendable; it is both roomy and well-configured without being excessively large. The strobes deliver outstanding performance, with quick recycling times up to approximately 75% power. At full power, recycling times extend to around 2.5 to 3 seconds; however, below 75% power, the recycling occurs very swiftly. The color temperature remains consistent across flashes and is well within acceptable tolerances at all power levels. The softboxes are constructed from durable materials, and although time will reveal whether they yellow, they provide excellent color reproduction immediately upon use.In summary, this comprehensive kit, which includes two 400Ws strobes, one reflector, high-quality softboxes, satisfactory light stands, and a premium carry bag, surpasses expectations. It is evident that Godox has thoughtfully designed each aspect of this package. This kit serves as a reliable turnkey professional solution that can facilitate income generation through photography services. Godox has executed an exemplary initiative with this kit.

I love the lights and they are easy to use and set up. Assembling the light boxes took the longest. Still not sure how to use the gel filters.

Let's face it: Photography is an expensive business, and adding studio photography to your practice is even more so. I bought this with high hopes: to upgrade my old home DYI light kit with a decent light set until I could afford something better. This "Professional studio light kit in a box" clearly looks impressive- lights, stands, soft boxes, and even a wireless trigger all in a well thought out carrying case! What could be better? The answer is everything. Fortunately, I actually use a pro light setup (Alien Bee 800) in my group's studio, so I knew exactly how a pro setup works and this isn't it. Besides weighing a ton, my main complaint was the light itself. PROBLEM 1: The modeling light has a distinctive dull yellow cast, which is exactly what you don't want in a modeling light. A modeling light should be bright and the same color as the flash so you can plan the lighting before using the flash. Trial and error is a horrid waste of time. Problem 2: I couldn't get the wireless transmitter to connect to the light. Problem 3: The light controls on the back provided little in the way of customization, and most importantly, didn't always work. Problem 4: light stands. They were cheap, lightweight, useless things. This wasn't a deal breaker as I have good quality ones already, but someone who needs stands would be very disappointed. I never tried the other components (soft box, strange cloth colored filters) as after testing the light, I knew I was shipping it back. The best part was the carrying bag, which was padded and well thought out. To anyone thinking about this set- save your money. Do research about lighting, and create a light set by buying quality, professional, used studio lights. There are a ton out there.

I used this for a photoshoot and it turned out amazing. It's definitely not used for fast subjects but portrait photography, it's perfect. One thing that I wish for is a better light stand but do make sure you have sand bags. You don't want the light to tip over and fall.
