This plastic reeds produces a rich, dark sound, plays immediately without wetting, and holds up beautifully to changes in temperature. I have been skeptical, especially since other plastic / synthetic reeds I've tried are very bright, but I use this reed all of the time. I firmly believe it is not a true replacement for a cane reed for concert band or orchestra settings, but for practice, marching band, and pep band, this reed could save a lot of money. I use it to pick it up and demonstrate techniques in lessons as a band teacher, and I enjoy the ability to not have to worry about my reed being playable for a quick "let me show you" moment. My high register (D above the treble staff and above) still speak, though slightly less reliably then my Mitchell Lurie reeds, but better than other synthetics I've used. I recommend this for anyone who wants a solid outdoors, practice, or pep band reed! I normally play a Vandoren Blue Box 3.5 or a Mitchell Lurie 4, and I ordered a 3.25 which feels about right to me!

Legere reeds are the best for me. Great response, nice dark sound, excellent control over entire range, last forever. Delivery, as usual with Amazon, is superb

I bought one of these when Légère introduced them. Unlike the European cut, this reed is narrower, meaning that it fits well with all my mouthpieces. The tone is lovely, and I find controlling the sound, especially dynamics much easier. I had gone back to cane, but this reed, despite its price, has me back to synthetic.

Feels more like a normal cane Reed but is a little softer than the Legere European Cut Reed which I have gotten used to. I never thought I would ever play synthetic reeds but I find them very convenient. They are well worth trying and to have one for an emergency Good blowing. God bless. Bill. UK
