This is a light-weight tailpiece with a titanium tailcord. The titanium tailcord is a different color of that from Stradpet but seems to work well. I had to turn the adjusting nuts upside down as the wider knurled part rubbed against the tailpiece. By turning them the other way, they fit nicely.The shape and configuration allows this tailpiece to get as close as you want to the saddle. That wasn't the case when using the titanium tailcord with the Akusticus plastic tailpiece (which had to be drilled out to accept this tailcord). The thicker ends of this tailcord (and of the Stradpet's) extend too far with the Akusticus. Even though this is longer than the Akusticus, I was still able to adjust the afterlength where I wanted it since I could adjust it closer to the saddle.The fine tuners were very difficult to turn at first. I lubricated their threads with pencil lead, and they turned fine after that.I was pleased with the sound and will order another for a different cello. I'm trying different tailpieces for sound and response (I will also try the Wittner), but you can't beat the price of this, and so far, it's worked the best for me. Your cello might be different, though!
