My child (like many other people out there) has to wear custom made ankle braces for support whenever she walks. These types of braces are called afo's and/or smo's. As you can imagine, they are quite big and bulky. Finding shoes to fit overtop is a challenge. She has to wear custom ordered sneakers because nothing else fits with her braces on.She is young and she absolutely loves playing in the water, whether it be water parks, beaches, pools, or the sprinklers in the backyard. However, her special order sneakers are not ideal for that. They are big and heavy already, so when they get wet they become so heavy that she has a hard time moving around. They also take ages to dry out. I've been searching for years for water shoes that fit overtop of her afo's so that she can enjoy her water play time. But despite trying on dozens upon dozens of different brands and styles, I've never found any that were able to fit overtop.That is, until I took a chance and ordered the Racqua kids water shoes. These are amazing! They are nice and wide all over, with a very wide and spacious toe area. They fabric is very stretchy. And they have a generous velcro tab closure so they're easy to get on and off. They arrived today and they looked promising. We tried them on right away, and they fit over her afo braces!! I'm so happy I could cry. Finally my kid can have a comfortable (and affordable) pair of shoes to wear for all her water activities this summer.I highly recommend these water shoes to anyone. But I especially recommend them to other families who struggle with afo and smo fit issues. I will be stocking up on these in bigger sizes so that my kid always has them as she continues to grow.Thank you for making water shoes that work for everyone. You have no idea how much this means to families like ours!

My son has thick tops to his feet and a lot of shoes and water shoes don’t fit well. These are easy for him to slip on and off himself and are very stretchy and comfortable.

Lightweight, easily packable, protective against hot or bumpy water, and kids had no complaints, wearing them to swim.
