Works on a 7yr old Kenmore 75-Gallon tank that requires 5500 watt elements. The foldback design is different from the OEM straight design but no issue with functionality. OEM insulation in place was a pain to work around with, in order to extract the old elements. Fair bit of time & work at cramped quarters in the basement. So fingers crossed for longevity of these heating elements.

Had an emergency with our Rheem water heater we bought in 8/2019. The control panel relay got stuck and overheated the lower heating element. The heating element burnt at the base enough to cause steam to come out so I had to replace it ASAP. Problem was, no local stores had them in stock. Amazon to the rescue. Had it delivered overnight on Prime before this nasty Coronavirus hit us. Installation was straightforward. Just took some time to drain the tank and borrowing the right tool from friends to remove the element. My biggest gripe was that these water heaters are not as robust as the older ones back in the day. I love that the from panel has all the switches in it and Rheem just sent me the panel replacement quickly. But these panels are faulty from what’s I’ve read online. A lot of people are having similar problems with them. So it’s good to know this before buying a Rheem water heater. The element itself is fine. Had no problems with it now the installation.
