For some reason the thumb screw on mine is/was not drilled out. It is threaded to just stop at the end, which means it is useless until I retap / drill it out. So tired of garbage Amazon products.

Ce chalumeau permet de couvrir une grande surface rapidement. Je m'en sert pour finir mes steaks cuit sous-vide et pour les crèmes brulées. Ça fonctionne très bien et c'est facile à utiliser. La grille s'éffrite rapidement, après quelques mois d'utilisation et il n'est pas facile d'en trouver des neuves.

quite a nice item, I have owned the searzall originally and thought to try this one out as it was half the cost. The product quality was quite nice almost exactly like the searzall. One of the screws broke during installation but customer service solved that issue quite quickly. Would recommend to anyone that is looking for a searzall alternative.

simply does not work. searing meat with this is less effective than an open flame.

The price is right, that's it's big strength.There is an adapter ring that fits both the standard "bernzomatic" torch and also the newer (remove the collet) and larger diameter torches.It really looks well made but it is missing the back screen. On the original Searzall, there are two screens. a small one near the burner and the larger screen at the 'business end' of the device. Time will tell how much of a difference this will make. I suppose I can always add a coarse mesh screen if necessary.
